Northwest wind 15 to 25 knots veering north 20 to 25 knots in the afternoon. Gusts up to 35 knot gales. Showers likely in the morning...then slight chance of showers in the afternoon. Waves 3 to 5 feet building to 6 to 10 feet in the afternoon.

Thursday Night

North wind 15 to 25 knots. Gusts up to 30 knots. Mostly clear. Waves 5 to 8 feet. A Small Craft Advisory may be needed.

* Winds: north 20 to 25 knots with frequent gusts to 35 knot
gales.

* Waves: building to 6 to 10 feet.

A gale watch is issued when the risk of gale force winds of 34 to
47 knots has significantly increased... but the specific timing
and/or location is still uncertain. It is intended to provide
additional lead time for mariners who may wish to consider
altering their plans.
