North winds 15 to 25 knots increasing to up to 30 knots after midnight. Gale force gusts up to 39 knots. Snow showers likely...possibly mixed with rain showers through midnight...then snow showers likely after midnight. Waves building to 11 to 15 feet.
Friday
North winds up to 30 knots with gale force gusts up to 39 knots. Cloudy. Snow showers likely through early afternoon... then a chance of snow showers by mid afternoon. Waves building to 12 to 17 feet...then subsiding to 7 to 10 feet.
Friday Night
North winds 10 to 20 knots with gusts up to 27 knots. Mostly cloudy through midnight then becoming partly cloudy. A slight chance of snow showers. Waves subsiding to 2 to 4 feet.

...Gale Warning in effect from 11 PM this evening to 2 PM EDT Friday...

The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a Gale Warning...which is in effect from 11 PM this evening to 2 PM EDT Friday.

* Wind and waves during the gale warning: expect sustained winds of up to 32 knots from the north...with gusts up to 42 knots. The largest expected significant waves will be 16 feet with a maximum wave height of up to 23 feet possible.

* Timing: the maximum winds are expected around 2 am EDT Friday with the largest waves expected around 9 am EDT Friday.
