Sumter Severe Watches & Warnings NOAA Weather Radio

Special Statement
Statement as of 4:42 PM CST on March 05, 2015

Due to todays wintry precipitation along with the even colder
temperatures that will move into central Alabama tonight... there
will be the potential for travel to remain hazardous across some
areas or become hazardous as conditions cool further. Roads...
bridges... and overpasses across portions of central Alabama may
become slick with black ice forming in spots. Winds may help some
but any ice that is already on the roads will not have the
opportunity to melt as overnight low temperatures will range from
the upper teens from Hamilton to Oneonta to the lower to middle
20s just south of the Interstate 20 corridor.

Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing near the
Interstate 20 corridor between 10 and noon on Friday. In the
Interstate 22 corridor and areas north and northeast of the
Birmingham Metro area temperatures may not rise above freezing
until 1 PM in some spots. Use caution if driving tonight into
Friday morning.
