The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a freeze warning...which is in effect from 10 PM CDT Saturday to 8 am CST Sunday. The freeze watch is no longer in effect.

* Timing...temperatures near freezing will begin developing after 1 am and spreading through the early Saturday morning hours. For Saturday night into Sunday morning...temperatures near freezing will develop by 10 PM and spread overnight.

* Temperatures...lows each night will range from 26 to 33 degrees. Breezy conditions will occur near and behind the front with the highest winds during daylight hours Saturday.

* Impacts...these temperatures can easily kill sensitive vegetation and may likely end the growing season across central Alabama.

A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
