The following information has been relayed from the north coast unified air quality management district (ncuaqmd).
Smoke levels in Hoopa and Willow Creek have been classified as unhealthy and are creating a health hazard. Most of the smoke is being generated by the July complex. Smoke levels will continue to be monitored. Please stay tuned for updates.
Individuals near the unhealthy zones are recommended to restrict outdoor activity.
Symptoms related to excess smoke exposure include: repeated coughing shortness of breath or difficulty breathing wheezing chest tightness or pain palpitations nausea or unusual fatigue lightheadedness
