Wind Advisory
Issued: 4:07 AM PST Feb. 8, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 2 PM PST this
afternoon...

* winds and timing... northeast winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts
between 40 and 50 mph will continue through early afternoon.
The strongest winds for the coastal areas of Los Angeles County
will occur below passes and canyons between Malibu and the
Hollywood Hills. Otherwise... winds will generally be breezy
across much of the Los Angeles basin.

* Impacts... gusty winds will make driving difficult... especially
for drivers of high profile vehicles. Winds this strong will
be capable of causing downed trees and cause power outages.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

When driving... use extra caution. Be prepared for sudden gusty
cross winds and watch for potential downed trees.






Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 2:31 PM PST Feb. 7, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning now in effect until 6 PM PST Monday for gusty
offshore wind and low relative humidity for the San Fernando and
Ventura County interior valleys... Ventura County coast... the
foothills above the San Gabriel valley and the Los Angeles coast
from Malibu to the Hollywood Hills...

* winds... northeast winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts between 40 and
50 mph.

* Relative humidity... poor relative humidity recovery tonight...
then relative humidity dropping into the teens and single
digits on Monday.

* Impacts... if fire ignition occur... conditions could be
favorable for extreme fire behavior which would threaten life
and property.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures will
create extreme fire behavior. Please advise the appropriate
officials or fire crews in the field of this red flag warning.
