Statement as of 4:15 AM MST on November 23, 2014

...Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM MST this evening...

* location...Lake County below 11ooo feet...and western Chaffee County between 9000 and 11000 feet...including Leadville.

* Cause and timing...moisture associated with a Pacific jet stream will bring periods of heavy snow and blowing snow to the central mountains through the today. The heaviest snow is expected to fall this morning.

* Snow accumulation...4 to 8 inches with locally heavier amounts.

* Wind...northwest at 15 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph resulting in areas of blowing and drifting snow.

* Impact...travel will be hazardous due to a combination of snow...blowing snow...poor visibilities and icy or snow covered roads.

Winter weather conditions are expected due to a combination of snow and blowing snow.
