...Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until midnight MDT tonight...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of central Colorado and south central Colorado... including the following areas...in central Colorado...eastern Sawatch Range...Mosquito Range and upper Arkansas River valley. In south central Colorado...central San Luis valley... eastern San Juan Mountains...La Garita Mountains...northern San Luis valley...southern San Luis valley and upper Rio Grande Valley.

* Until midnight MDT tonight

* monsoon moisture will remain over Colorado tonight. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible with rainfall rates of up to 2 inches per hour.

* Flooding of urban areas...creeks...streams and normally dry washes will be possible this afternoon and evening. Heavy rainfall on burn scars may result in dangerous mud and ash flows.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
