Through 1100 PM...isolated light showers will move towards the west northwest at near 35 knots over the Atlantic waters within 20 nm of the middle and Lower Keys. A few of these showers may cross the Lower Keys from big coppitt to Key West. Residents in the path of these showers will experience very brief periods of light to moderate rain. In the outer Florida Straits...an area of rain with embedded heavier showers will continue moving towards the west at near 30 knots. This area extends along a line stretching from about 30 nm south of Looe Key light to the Dry Tortugas...and to the northwest of the Dry Tortugas. Mariners can expect moderate to heavy rainfall with visibility reduced below 3 nm in the heavier showers...as well as frequent wind gusts approaching 40 knots.

Strong winds will continue over the Keys island chain and Atlantic coastal waters... with sustained winds of 25 to 30 mph and peak gusts to 35 to 40 mph. Wind impacts will be strongest on less protected Road sections and bridges... as well as on exposed southern and eastern coasts of the Keys.

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph... or frequent gusts in excess of 35 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Motorists should be alert for sudden gusts of wind... especially on bridges... which may cause you to lose control of your vehicle. Use extra caution.
