The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a lake Wind Advisory... which is in effect from midnight tonight to 7 PM EST Wednesday. A freeze watch has also been issued. This freeze watch is in effect from late Wednesday night through Thursday morning.
A cold front will advance across the area late this afternoon. Northwest winds will increase behind this feature and will likely sustain around 20 mph from late tonight through Wednesday. In addition... gusts as high as 35 mph can be expected Wednesday. As a result... a lake Wind Advisory is in effect from late tonight through Wednesday.
The combination of plummeting temperatures and elevated winds will likely produce wind chill values in the upper 20s and lower 30s later tonight and Wednesday morning.
Cold high pressure will begin to settle into the area Wednesday night. The combination of decreasing winds and mainly clear skies will likely result in temperatures dipping in the upper 20s and lower 30s... with a light freeze event forecast for the inland sections and possibly extending to the the coast.
Precautionary/preparedness actions... a lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
A freeze watch means sub-freezing temperatures are possible. These conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.

The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a Fire Weather Watch... which is in effect Thursday. A red flag warning remains in effect from 11 am to 6 PM EST Wednesday.
A cold front will advance across the area tonight trailed by gusty northwest winds and much drier air. Breezy northwest winds will increase tonight after midnight to 15 to 20 mph... then continue to increase after sunrise Wednesday into the 15 to 25 mph range with gusts up to 35 mph possible. Relative humidities will fall Wednesday into the 20 to 25 percent range. These windy and dry conditions will create high fire danger conditions on Wednesday... and a red flag warning has been issued.
Winds will decrease Thursday... however dry northwest flow will continue over the area. Afternoon relative humidities are expected to fall into the 30 to 35 percent range Thursday afternoon with sub-critical durations near 4 hours possible. A Fire Weather Watch has been issued.
