Statement as of 11:57 AM CST on November 26, 2014

...Winter Weather Advisory now in effect until 6 PM CST this evening...

* short term trends...light snow will continue as a band of snow pushes southeastward through the area this afternoon. The snow is expected to gradually taper off from northwest throughout the afternoon.

* Storm total snow accumulations...4 to 5 inches

* winds and visibility...north to northwest 15 to 25 mph and gusty. Visibilities may be reduced to around one half mile to one mile at times with the snow.

* Impacts...snow covered slippery roads are expected with icy travel conditions. Some minor blowing snow may occur in the afternoon and evening. Drive safely and expect longer travel times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while driving.
