Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 3:38 PM CST on November 25, 2014

...Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 3 am to 6 PM CST Wednesday...

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow...which is in effect from 3 am to 6 PM CST Wednesday.

* Timing...light snow is expected to begin between midnight and 3 am with light to moderate snow between 6 am and 3 PM. The snow will diminish by early evening Wednesday.

* Storm total snow accumulations...snowfall totals of 2 to nearly 4 inches are expected with the heavier totals north of Highway 20.

* Winds and visibility...southeast winds of 10 to 15 mph will give way to north winds following the storm with winds increasing to 10 to 20 mph over the area Iowa by Wednesday evening. Visibility may be reduced to one half mile at times during the heaviest snowfall.

* Impacts...snow covered roads are expected with slippery travel conditions. Some minor blowing snow may occur Wednesday evening following the storm. Adjust your speed for slower travel and expect longer travel times throughout the morning and afternoon.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while driving.
