The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a

Significant weather advisory for... southeastern Cassia County in south central Idaho extreme south central Power County in southeast Idaho western Oneida County in southeast Idaho

Until 330 am MST

A band of snow showers and extremely strong winds over 50 mph is creating significant travel hazards along Interstate 84 near Juniper. White out conditions are possible. Travel is discouraged along Interstate 84 until the strong winds subside.

Locations that could be affected include... Black Pine and Juniper...

Travel is not advised this evening. If you must travel...keep a cell phone...flashlight...food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

An area of light to moderate snowfall was moving through the southern Highlands late this evening. Webcams were showing about an inch of accumulation on Highway 84 near sweetzer Summit. Light accumulations of snow are expected over Malad and Fish Creek summits through 1245 am MST. Accumulating snow can produce slick Road conditions along with reduced visibility. Motorists traveling on area roads should use caution and slow down.
