Tazewell Severe Watches & Warnings NOAA Weather Radio

Special Statement
Statement as of 3:12 PM CDT on August 20, 2014

...Hot and humid weather is on the way...

An upper-level ridge of high pressure will build across the region by the end of the week...resulting in increasing temperature and humidity levels. Afternoon highs will climb into the lower to middle 90s Friday through Monday...while peak heat index values top out in the 100 to 105 degree range.

This will be the longest and most sustained period of heat of the entire Summer. People are urged to use caution if they must be outside for extended periods of time. Drink plenty of fluids and take frequent breaks to avoid overheating.
