Wind Advisory
Statement as of 1:15 PM CST on November 23, 2014

...Wind Advisory in effect from 3 am to 6 PM CST Monday...

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Wind Advisory...which is in effect from 3 am to 6 PM CST Monday.

* A low pressure system will lift across the area later tonight and Monday...tightening the wind gradient and thereby producing advisory level winds.

* Timing: late tonight through early tomorrow afternoon will be the best time period for peak winds.

* Winds: south winds will increase to 20 to 30 mph sustained late tonight...then shift to west winds Monday morning. Gusts in the 30 to 40 mph range will be commonplace...with isolated higher gusts to 45 mph possible.

* Impacts: vehicular traffic will be impacted...especially high profile vehicles. Outdoor activities will likewise be impacted by these strong and gusty winds...and this includes hazardous lake conditions. Any loose outdoor items should be secured or risk being damaged.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds are expected to reach 30 mph or greater for longer than one hour...or wind gusts are expected to reach 45 mph for any duration.
