a record low temperature of 23 degrees was set at Jackson KY today.
This breaks the old record of 32 set in 2014.

... Pikeville NOAA weather transmitter at low power this week...

Wwg69 from Pikeville... which broadcasts on a frequency of 162.400
mhz... will be at low power starting Tuesday March 31st. The tower
that the transmitter resides will be painted... and the transmitter
will be set to low power to limit exposure of the maintenance
crew to rf radiation. There will also be outage periods when the
climbers are in close proximity to the antenna. The transmitter
will be back to full power when painting is concluded on the 600
foot tower.

Wwg81 out of Phelps on a frequency of 162.500 mhz...
kih40 out of hazard on a frequency of 162.475 mhz...
and wwg28 out of Paintsville on a frequency of 162.525 mhz.
