Statement as of 12:15 PM EST on December 1, 2009 ... Gloucester NOAA Weather Radio transmitter will be moved on Wednesday December 2... The NOAA Weather Radio transmitting marine information from Gloucester Massachusetts will be moved from Eastern Point to the top of the new NOAA National marine fisheries building on Wednesday December 2. The NOAA Weather Radio broadcast from this site will be interrupted during the move... scheduled between 10 am and 4 PM. We plan to have service restored by 4 PM on Wednesday. The relocation of this marine broadcast transmitter will allow for greater range and emergency backup power.
