...Flood Watch remains in effect until 8 am EDT Wednesday...
The Flood Watch continues for
* portions of northern Connecticut...Massachusetts...southern New Hampshire and Rhode Island
* until 8 am EDT tomorrow morning.
* Rain will gradually taper off and even change to a wintry mix before ending overnight. This runoff will continue to drain into area rivers/streams.
* This rainfall on top of already swollen rivers basins...especially the Connecticut...Merrimack...and Pawcatuck River valleys will result in minor river flooding with the potential for moderate river flooding. Likely local streams and rivers will also be impacted as well with the potential for minor flooding.
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
