Statement as of 11:59 AM MST on February 27, 2015

... Winter Storm Warning in effect until 8 am MST Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect until 8 am MST
Saturday.

* Snow accumulations... additional accumulations of 4 to 8 inches
late today into tonight. Localized amounts of 10 inches may be
possible on the highest mountain peaks... especially near the
Colorado border.

* Timing... while snow has temporarily decreased in coverage and
intensity... additional batches of snow will develop and increase
over the area through the late afternoon. Periodic snow will
continue through the late morning Saturday.

* Winds... significant winds are not expected.

* Snow levels... temperatures will be cold enough for snow at all
locations.

* Local impacts... hazardous travel conditions are expected due
to snow covered and icy roads and reduced visibilities in
falling snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food...
and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
