... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST
Wednesday...
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST
Wednesday.
Expect a total of 3 to 6 inches of snow. The highest snowfall
amounts will be in southern portions of the advisory area... with
snow amounts dropping off north of the thruway.
Following an initial period of snow during the evening hours... a
steadier band will move into west-central New York just before
daybreak. While snowfall rates will generally be less than an
inch an hour... the persistent nature of this event will hinder
travel for the Wednesday morning commute.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory is normally issued for a variety of
winter weather conditions such as light snow... blowing snow...
sleet... freezing rain and wind chills. While the weather will be
significant... the word advisory implies that severe winter
weather is not anticipated. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio or
your favorite source of weather information for the latest
updates. Additional details can also be found at
