Wind Advisory
Statement as of 9:07 PM EST on February 09, 2010
... Wind Advisory remains in effect from 8 am to 8 PM EST Wednesday...
As low pressure rapidly intensifies off the mid Atlantic coast on Wednesday strong winds are expected across the coastal Carolinas. Wind speeds of 25 to 35 mph will develop Wednesday morning and will persist through early evening. Wind gusts could reach as high as 45 mph... especially during the afternoon hours.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph or higher are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution especially on bridges and overpasses. Secure outdoor... light-weight objects such as trash cans and lawn furniture. As the ground remains saturated it is possible shallow rooted trees could fall.
