.An area of low pressure near the Bay of Campeche is expected to move north into the western Gulf of Mexico on Sunday. This feature combined with high pressure over Texas will lead to strong easterly winds over the Upper Texas coastal waters and increased tide levels. Tides are forecast to run 1 to 1.5 feet above normal through tonight. Tide levels will increase to 2 to 2.5 feet above normal Sunday night.
The highest tide levels are expected to occur during high tide Sunday night. The main impacts are expected to occur along the Gulf facing shores although lower lying roads along the bays may be susceptible to some minor flooding as well.
