Special Statement
Statement as of 3:08 AM PDT on April 21, 2015

... Much colder weather and sharply lower snow levels are expected
in the mountains later tonight through the end of the week...

A strong cold front will move through western Washington late this
afternoon or this evening. Temperatures in the lower passes will reach
the mid 50s to lower 60s early this afternoon... then will tumble
into the 30s to lower 40s tonight into Wednesday.

Snow levels this morning are high... around 8000 feet. They will
plummet to 3000 to 3500 feet late tonight and Wednesday. A inch or
two of snow is possible late tonight into Wednesday morning in
showers... especially in the central Cascades where a Puget Sound
convergence zone is likely to set up.

Outdoor enthusiasts and people planning travel into the mountains
over the next few days should prepare for winter weather conditions.
