Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 7:39 PM MDT on July 07, 2015

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a

* small stream Flood Advisory for...
south central Teton County in northwestern Wyoming...

* until 930 PM MDT

* at 735 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream and flooding of low
lying or poor drainage areas. This could impact the visitor center
at Moose.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Moose... Kelly... Phelps Lake... Gros ventre campground.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated... or
ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.
It takes only a few inches of swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles
away.
