GOOD EVENING AND HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

As you may have heard by now, we (in Methuen, MA) had a 26 hr power outage starting around midnite Sat. (due to the Nor'Easter) and lasting until 2:00 pm today! Needless to say, hubby and I are wiped out from monitoring our old generator which worked relatively well throughout this ordeal. It suddenly conked out at 3:15 am last night, while 28 degrees outside, but it thankfully restarted after a few tries. WHEW! We had enough power generated for heat throughout the house, one energy efficient refrigerator, a coffeemaker and a of couple energy efficient bulbed lamps. We also had battery operated, lanterns, flashlights, along with two radios (one with a CD player included) to help diffuse all the loud grinding noise outside. WE TRULY THANK GOD TO HAVE OUR POWER BACK ON and to be able to do the things we take so much for granted like: cooking hot meals, watching TV and getting back on the internet, etc.!!!!!!

Parts of Mass., NH and, especially, Connecticut may have to wait till the end of the week before they see their power finally restored!!! This morning, our power company had told us we might be looking at Thursday until we regained ours! Believe me, hubby was truly distressed (since he's disabled from a stroke three years ago) but our prayers were gratefully answered! This Nor'Easter really packed a whallop on nearby trees and utility poles! Thankfully, they cancelled Halloween tonight in our town and have rescheduled it for Wednesday night. I don't think we'll be seeing anyone out this year and, quite frankly, hubby and I are planning to stay hidden inside. I know, bah humbug! LOL!

Well, I'm off to finish up making a nice HOT home cooked meal (now that our stove/oven and all microwave have the power to work again) and take another long pre-winter's nap. I still feel like a real walking zombie after this ordeal!

2005 most of us that were hit by hurricanes were still in "shell shock" that Christmas.

I know I did it in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and now 2011!
Yelp this is 6 yrs.
