...Brings Mud Season! And any snow that falls is called "Poor man's fertilizer." Especially after the farmers plow the fields. Yes it can still snow well into April, even double digits. The 3rd & 4th, 1975 (12.7"), and the 6th & 7th, 1982 are good examples. Now I can add the 4th & 5th, 2007 to the list. The 10.4" on 4-13-1962 is the latest recorded double digit snowfall. The 30th is the only day without recorded snow--

Well it seems Mother Nature saved the best (or worst, however you look at it) SNOW for last. (Hopefully last!) April's snow is more than January and February combined. Just the last 2 storms brought me from barely half of seasonal average to this--

"Footprints in the Sand"
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was
walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the
sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he
noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one
belonging to him, and the other to the Lord. When
the last scene of his life flashed before him, he
looked back at the footprints in the sand. He
noticed that many times along the path of his life
there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed
that it happened at the very lowest and saddest
times in his life. This really bothered him and he
questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, You said that
once I decided to follow you, You'd walk with me all
the way. But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life, there is only one set
of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed
you most you would leave me." The Lord replied,
"My son, My precious child, I love you and I would
never leave you. During your times of trial and
suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it
was then that I Carried You."

The dry air mass is firmly in place. Looking like another nice Spring day with a high in the mid 60's. Today is Bangor's annual rite of Spring--the running of the Kenduskeag Stream Canoe race. Over 400 boats and 800 paddlers on a course 16.5 miles from Kenduskeag village to the confluence with the Penobscot River in downtown Bangor. This year's high water should make for some near record times. I'm off to watch the festivities...
Have a Spectacular Saturday WUBAVILLE :)
January: 13 in. snow
February: 17 in. snow
March: 21 in. snow
April: 32 in. snow

This is based on my snow gauge which seems to be pretty accurate.
You are right: More snow in April than January and February combined.

That was a great soaker for us yesterday! And the snow was mostly confined to parts of town that are a little higher elevation where the trees have not leafed out as much, minimizing the tree damage. Now we're going to get the heat wave...looks like 80+ here by Sunday. Everything is going to grow like crazy!!
