Good afternoon!
First off just like to say hey to everyone after the winter. I have to admit I miss the Weather Underground during the winter and look foward to all the great learning experiences that come with Hurricane season.
Unfortunatly though, we are being reminded too soon of the terrible power of hurricanes can posses with the situation that has developed from Cyclone Nargis' in Myanmar. Watching the story unfold I was left wondering what I can do to help.
The answer was easy. The best thing we can do is pray at this point. First and foremost, pray that the leaders of Myanmar will allow foreign aid in to the country in its full capacity. Pray for the relief to reach those who need it most and for all of those who are suffering needlessly. We can pray for the volunteers and aid workers, for their strength and endurance to aid the local population. Pray for the grieving of that country, that God will ease their pain as they morn for their lost love ones.
I ask that if its God's will that you join me in praying for this country in their time of need. The worse thing we can do is let this just be another story and forget about it when next weeks headline becomes a realization. Just a simple prayer, will work miracles for these people.
Here is a song I heard on the radio today while driving home from work, while thinking about how I can help. My prayer for you is that it helps move you to pray for Myanmar as well.
I look foward to speaking to all of you once again this season.
