Susan Boyle on Britain's Got Talent
by dwarthy

She is beautiful and has a voice of an angel....

She reached for the stars,
She Dreamed a Dream,
The voice of an angel
Made the audience scream.
Yes, Yes, Yes,
She reached for the stars......
She followed her dream!

Follow her led - reach for the stars,
live your life,
dream, expand your horizons!

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Hope is the dream of the waking man.

Whoa, that little girl can sing. Doesn't hurt that that's one of my favorite songs, too. I have a feeling we'll be hearing more from her in the future.

Foxxy,
Hope you had a restful weekend. After seeing your Frazzled Foxx graphic appear a couple of times last week, it was clearly time for R&R. Pirating "Destin Style" aka YOLO -- sounds like fun, fun fun!

Hi all!

Wonderful videos!!!!

Thanks for posting them... there is some amazing talent in the world, much we never see.

Mini Vacation over...wonderful time, right here "at home", across the bay at the marina of one of the local resorts - Sandestin. I love sleeping on the boat, and it was nice to be walking distance to so many fabulous restaurants!

Spent about 45 minutes on the new YOLO Yak - paddling into the wind for about 1/2 of that time! What a workout!! But so much fun. Not sure I recommend paddling into 20 -25 mph gusts though - serious workout!

thanks all for stopping by, will touch base w/ everyone asap!

Hugs, Peace, and Joy to all!

Hello, Foxxy the YOLO Queen!

Hope you get some rest this weekend. Your "Frazzled Foxx" graphic says it all -- busy, busy, BUSY. Also hope you have plenty of "flip-flops and toe-ring" days.

oh and by the way ladies.. this "gamma" is not aging gracefully either! LOL

Good for you Gamma! I think I'll hang with the rest of you and age -- joyously. Yeah, that's the word I was looking for.

roflmao.. girl, it's called a "cleaning service"..I am not a "domestic goddest" either! LOL and hubby finally figured it out...I will do yard work and clean the pool but I hire someone to come clean my house! at least once a month is usually OK..

"Cleaning service" -- not a bad idea. I gotta do that, too. I'm always worried that someone will drop by unexpected, and see the way we really live. Hey, our home is comfortable and happy, just not "Home and Gardens" material. At least not the interior.

Kind of funny, but I actually like to mow the lawn -- so long as I get to use the riding mower! Rick cleans up the "tight" areas with the push mower and weed whacker. I can work the push mower if I have to, but that big gasoline-power weed whacker -- no thanks. It has a mind of its own, and drags me along with it!

from Data:

Umm, let's just say that's not my strong suit. I mean, really, really not. Don't know about you, but one thing that I don't DREAM of is a clean bathroom -- which is probably why I don't have one, LOL.

Surf, that story, I am amzaed I figured you were surfing and riding all your adult life.. You are an inspiration! I ran in my 20's so starting it again now in my 50's.. well I consider it a 25 year "break" LOL and I had horses growing up but haven't been on one in about 35 years.... and miss it.. but you started doing that in your late 40's amazing.

and yes I want to YOLO board so bad.. it is on my Things to do list. That and Zip Lining in Costa Rico we hope to go there next March for our 25th Anniversary.

now let me finish catching up here.

I'm only "old" in body not in mind! ....except for those "senior moments" but thats ok. LOL

sometimes hubby and I think we are still in our 30's! (and then we acted like teenages) LOL

Another favorite poster of mine said:

That one reminds me of YOLO -- a motto to live by.

I just realized that I had a great poster collection when I was a kid! Too bad that I have no idea where all the posters went.

Beach: I am sharing my warning with all I can. You may see this around, but I didn't want to leave you out.

**********************

Subject: Medical alert from CDC

The Center for Disease Control has issued a medical alert about a highly contagious, potentially dangerous virus that is transmitted orally, by hand, and even electronically.
This virus is called Weekly Overload Recreational Killer (WORK).
If you receive WORK from your boss, any of your colleagues or anyone else via any means whatsoever - DO NOT TOUCH IT!!! This virus will wipe out your private life entirely. If you should come into contact with WORK you should immediately leave the premises.

Take two good friends to the nearest liquor store and purchase one or both of the antidotes - Work Isolating Neutralizer Extract (WINE) and Bothersome Employer Elimination Rebooter (BEER). Take the antidote repeatedly until WORK has been completely eliminated from your system.

You should immediately forward this medical alert to five friends. If you do not have five friends, you have already been infected and WORK is, sadly, controlling your life.

referring to Beach in #33;

I concur, my mother was beside herself when she learned that her 32 year-old daughter was going to be racing motocross for the first time. OH, the examples she gave me. "Your too old to be doing stupid stuff like that?" or, "Who's gonna take care of you if you seriously hurt yourself? Not me. I'll be dead from embarassment." or any of the other crazy exuses she gave me. she told me flat out, she didn't want to know when I was riding, racing, nor even to see the photos I take of my friends.....cool! I shared all that with Dad. (I even got him to come to one of my races - and I didn't fall once!!)

Hey, the way I see it. I am single. No children. How am I going to get my fresh air on a regular basis if I am not sitting at my child's soccer, baseball, or football games? Without the hubby or bf that is interested in getting out?...I tell you what. Those years that I raced were the best years of my adult life...okay post military adult life.

Yeah, I got bumped around. Women...there are certain ribs that are best if we don't injure them. These specific ribs are hard to isolate, heat or cold pack. I know from experience. One weekend I cracked one of those said ribs and the next weekend I raced in the season opener. I know...not smart. I went down in the race and heard a crunch!! Okay, I check the arm, shoulder, neck...all is well so I get up and finish the race!! The next day I was heading in for x-rays...Oh, yeah. those cracked ribs...not good.

Of course I never admitted to Mom about that. I avoided her house for about a week or two and then made a point of moving her laundry for her. Those big machines and my 5'2" build has never been a good match....that was my scapgoat.(whether she bought it or not I don't know)

You are probably asking what my point is....I won't be old sitting in a rocker wishing I had done something a little daring in my life...maybe that I had stayed at it longer, but I did do it. I probably won't have grandchildren to share my battle scars with, but I will have the stories.

Don't worry, Ladies (Foxxy and Surfmom), no one will ever accuse you of aging too gracefully. That is, if they read how you two keep doing your darndest to prevent Orca from enjoying a shiny halo. I recall something about him being forced to wear said halo around certain nether regions a while back...

When I was a kid (before I had a horse), I kept a poster on my bedroom wall with a picture of a young woman galloping across a field. The poster was captioned with Langston Hughes' poem, "Dreams". I so wanted to be like that Grrrl with the horse -- and I eventually was! That poster was my inspiration.

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

You first learned to ride at 47??!!! And are hauling horses around a track a just few years later??!! You have some real guts and talent. I've been riding most of my life, but I'm not sure I could handle the track part... A good gallop with a trustworthy horse is fun, though! :)

Nice to see ya! LOL

Susan Boyle, an unassuming woman, with a gift from the angels.
Her grace & dignity make her even more beautiful.

I'm still moved to tears by her voice...
Pavoratti
Jeff Buckley
and few others have that ability, that perfect sound, like the angels trumpeting from heaven.

Isn't it wonderful - now, if only, people would not judge by looks - What a Wonderful World this would be!

Lucky for him, we had a bit of a North breeze,

What a cool gadget!
