FLOOD ADVISORY

FRANKLIN PA-
705 PM EDT SAT APR 26 2008

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE PA HAS ISSUED AN

* URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
FRANKLIN COUNTY...

* UNTIL 1000 PM EDT...

* AT 705 PM EDT DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN WAS FALLING DUE TO
SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS. DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATES THAT ONE TO THREE
INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN IN THIS EVENING. FLOODING IS POSSIBLE THIS
EVENING.

* LOCATIONS IN THE ADVISORY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
CHAMBERSBURG...GREENCASTLE...ORRSTOWN AND WAYNESBORO.

A LARGE AREA OF HEAVY RAIN HAS MOVED ACROSS FRANKLIN COUNTY AND HAS
DROPPED BETWEEN 1 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN WITH THE HEAVIEST RAIN NEAR
UPPER STRAASBURG.

A FLOOD ADVISORY MEANS THAT ALTHOUGH STREAMS AND CREEKS MAY BE
ELEVATED OR EVEN RISE OUT OF THEIR BANKS...PROPERTY DAMAGE WILL BE
MINIMAL.

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS.

TheRasberryPatch- No the front has not slowed. The reason it is expanding is because it is weakening.

Interestingly enough another line is building behind the weakening line. I am not sure of the reason that is.

hey blizz - did you ever sign up with CWOP? they have some nice graphics on the quality of your station. one reason i never bought the fan aspirator is because my temp and humidity has always performed well. they quality check it through MADIS and CWOP.
