hey blizz - did you ever sign up with CWOP? they have some nice graphics on the quality of your station. one reason i never bought the fan aspirator is because my temp and humidity has always performed well. they quality check it through MADIS and CWOP.

Interestingly enough another line is building behind the weakening line. I am not sure of the reason that is.

TheRasberryPatch- No the front has not slowed. The reason it is expanding is because it is weakening.

A couplet has formed at the Cumberland/Franklin County border indicating some rotation. Be on the look out for a quick-hitting possible tornado. At the moment though I believe the rotation is currently too weak, though.

Well, that was a disappointment. I was counting on getting some rain today to water the flowers and onions I moved yesterday. We only got two slight sprinkles, the second not even enough to come inside. The temperature has dropped from the upper 70s to the mid 60s though.

Oh well, time to water. Have a good evening!!

TheRasberryPatch- I believe it will because in Perry, Cumberland, and Franklin Counties it is very warm and humid. But I will say though the line will weaken once it moves into Lebano-Lancaster County line due to the marine layer. So far everything is going according to my forecast.

MrSea- Thanks for posting that. I have wondered all day why they did not even post a slight risk area. For you top pretend watch there was a MD issued earlier. See one of my comments below.

jthal57- That is interesting. I expect them to die out in intensity as them move into that more stable air.

Here in eastern PA:
12:30pm 67 F,
3:00pm 61 F
easterly winds and overcast conditions have really cooled things off. Wonder if those storms make it all the way east

good luck with the vegetable garden blizz. i have used 4x4's, but i find 6x6 are better. if you stack them make sure you drill holes in them and lock them together with rebar. i found that works great.

cchamp6- Thankyou.

***I am very impressed by the development of the squall line. All along the line storms have formed with hail being a threat as freezing levels are around 9,000-10,000. A major update coming out around 3:30 hopefully. Heading out to get some materials for building a new vegetable garden.

Blizz,

The blog looks really good. Nice job! Things are looking very spring like here today. 63 degrees and mostly sunny. I am doing some planting in the new garden.

100pm update...

A line of showers and thunderstorms is forming out in western Pennsylvania. Latest models showing cape values reaching over 1200 in the lower susquehanna valley. Also the warm front is hung up over that region. And if any storms get caught in the hung up warm front slight rotation may be able to form to cause severe thunderstorms. Also I have updated all the sections in the blog as of 1pm including the latest SPC discussion and maps as of noon. Look for another update in around one hour.

TheRasberryPatch- For today yes a chance of severe weather is possible. Nothing to widespread though, the dynamics are just not there. For Sunday you may be alright to work outside it may just be mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 60s. Looking ahead to next weekend, Saturday should be nice but Sunday another system with more rain may be moving in. I have no experience with grapes.
