Upside down winter, at least the 2010 part

This has gotten ridiculous. It was bad enough last week when areas in the mid Atlantic were hammered with back to back blizzards. But over the past three days, serious accumulations have occurred from Texas, through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina with even a little bit of snow in Florida.

As we pause on the eve of Valentine's day in this snowless Boston 2010, the official tally for Boston thus far in February is 1.6". Even further north in Bangor, ME, they have only seen a trace. Surprisingly, both Boston and Bangor are slightly above their winter averages of snowfall up to this point. Fresh snow of any consequence is but a fading memory.

Hi Dan! Nice to hear from you on my blogsite and may you have had a HAPPY VALENTINES DAY as well! Yes, indeed, it looks like either El Ninio or Mother Nature has found his/her compass again and we'll be in for a few inches of snow. Since I'm located near the Southern NH border, it is estimated that we could get around 6 + or - inches. Hopefully, it will be less than estimated, as I, for one, was enjoying being able to see the bare roadway. At least, it's only about 34 more days to spring! I think most of us are counting the days till warmer temps preside permanently. I really feel bad for my blogging buddies who live in the mid-Atlantic region! Reminds me of our Blizzard of '78. Yup, 6" of snow is just a drop in the bucket in comparison, so I have nothing to complain about .... well, for now. LOL's! BE WELL, SAFE AND WARM and have a great PRESIDENTS DAY!! Hello Masshysteria, As a snow lover I am not a fan of the bare ground and am hoping to get a bit of snow. However, I am really looking forward to warm weather and green. The Blizzard of 78 was the one I grew up hearing about. I was arounf but too young to remember.
