As expected, the tropical disturbance in the mid-Atlantic is being sheared and is weakening.The low pressure is about 700 miles east of the Lesser Antilles has some convection but is likely to encounter wind shear as it approaches the islands so development is unlikely.

However, there is concern it will increase rainfall in the islands, and in particular in Haiti, this weekend. The northern leeward islands can expect gusty winds and heavy rains as the system moves by them. The potential does exist
for tropical storm force gust in some isolated locations, especially in the higher elevations,

According to the Azores High hypothesis by Kam-biu Liu, an anti-phase pattern is expected to exist between the Gulf of Mexico coast and the Atlantic coast.
