Hi, folks!
It’s been raining and blowing most of the morning, pretty amazingly at times. There were what looked like sold curtains of rain blowing past, but now the sun it trying to come through the clouds. Go figure…. The gusts are going up into the 30’s, and it’s running steadily in the teens. Oi! …and it’s still just about 50F, even if it’s supposed to go up into the low 60’s today. Dunno as it’s a-gonna make it.
Not a lot of birds today.
Travis and Hatch are here for a visit.
Maruis took the evening class. I stayed home and itched…..
I did some writing and worked on some inventory stuff, but I’m miserable enough that I’m going to can it for now. Hopefully, I’ll feel enough better that I can write more for tomorrow.
The shop is closed on Tuesday/Wednesday. Spring hours, 11am-7pm, Thursday through Monday. If we’re supposed to be closed, but it looks like we’re there, try the door. If it’s open, the shop’s open!

In a telescope, Venus is a dramatic, thin crescent becoming more interesting all the time. This week it enlarges from 50 to 54 arcseconds tall while waning from 10% to just 4% sunlit. You may even see the crescent with firmly braced binoculars.

Magick – Daily Om - May 3, 2012 - Going on Retreat - Making Time for Reflection
Going on retreat can be a powerful way to process what is happening in your life.
Giving ourselves time to reflect and heal can be a powerful way to process the things that are happening in our lives, and one of the best approaches to do this is by going on a retreat. Going on a retreat means that we have set the intention to heal and learn more about our spirit, and doing this is a decision that we make for ourselves.
Since everyone sees and experiences the world differently, it is important to choose a type of retreat that works best for us. Even though a friend or loved one may recommend something, we have to trust our intuition and select a path that really connects with what our soul needs most at the time. The most essential thing is to be willing to respect our unique stage of development and to be patient with ourselves since any thoughts or issues that arise are simply part of the process of healing. Just remembering that a retreat is an intense period of time where serious soul searching takes place can help us allow whatever may happen to us to fully unfold. Going on retreat may sound like a vacation, but most retreat experiences ask you to look deep inside of yourself, and sometimes this can be uncomfortable or stir the pot of our soul.
Putting our trust in the retreat process will make space for the necessary work we have to do, making it easier for our hearts and minds to explore wholly the innermost reaches of our soul. By paying attention to these messages, we pave the way for greater healing and transformation, since spending time in contemplation at a retreat will give us the gift of insight and understanding that we can use in all aspects of our daily lives.

5/19/12 – Dealing with a persistent ex, a mistake from the git-go, stressed and feeling under attack constantly. Help!

5/13/12 – “I am still very sick and have been for a month now - really need help kicking this on the spiritual plane - depression makes you sick and I am having a hard time climbing out of this hole. I now have bronchitis as well as the ongoing infection - see Dr again on Monday - This is probably the only request for help/healing I have ever made - but I just can't seem to kick this on my own. 5/8/12 - 9-year-old boy with an inoperable brain tumor. Starting radiation. Family and friends asking help for him and for the children that know him. Update 4/7 He’s doing pretty well and back in school despite the treatments. Update 5/8 No news is good news.
