One thing it did accomplish was replenish the water in the ground. The conditions in our swampy areas resembled something a couple of months from now, not the case now.
The Bay was not angry however the swells coming in were something else, didn't get to Deep Cove for a peek. However one could look down Duck Island Sound and the white water evident on the shoals, without let up.
Cool and damp for the start of the weekend, more typical April, but sure bringing on the trees and green grass.

You should be able to get at your gear this morning with no trouble. Spoke with one of the guys last evening that toughed it out on Tuesday, swells over fifteen feet. Not too much of a problem with trawls, seems on the single gear boat up on the swell and buoay in the trough, had to make a few go rounds to get some of them. Fishing not bad, picking up a bit at a time. He mentioned a large number of 'Jumbos' showing up,another earliar than usual development.
See lots of frozen bait going by most days, appears out of Boston. The seiners set to go next week, haven't heard of any local signs,did see lots of gulls hurling in the Channel this past weekend, could have been the weather.

I would have loved to see the big waves. Always a good photo-opt.
Daughter is home so last night here was a zoo. Kids from every university going - including University of Ottawa (my quantum physics rent-a-son and daughter). I hit the hay at 11:30 to much talking and movie watching. Paid the price this morning.
After lunch we are off to the waterfalls for pictures. Are taking two non-hikers and it is straight up to the falls. Should be interesting.
Daughter had good news when she arrived home. She was recommended for a position at the University of N.B. by the leader of the Intercordia group she was involved with last year (re: Nicauragua). A brief first interview landed her the post. Excellent. She has provincial job, at least for the summer, and Bailey got a Federal Job with the Potatoe Council of N.B. Now if Cody gets something when he is done lst year in June.
Well, I had better get to it. Sarah has gone to the R.C.M.P. station to get her crim. record check and then we are off.
