GRAND MANAN, N.B.

A classic spring weather morning in commence, bright sun, clam, tide well out, temp a cool -2C, expected to rise into mid-teens. Rain this evening for the remainder of the week, temps to highs in midteens.

A clammer, and boats hauling traps the picture out the window this morning. Quite a KODAK moment for sure.

Final Council Meeting of the current Mandate last evening, new faces for sure after election on the 14 MAY 12, has been a good four years. Next four should be interesting with projects to deal with on the landscape as we speak.

Mornin CHUNKS, a great one in this part of the world, but will go south by suppertime, with a system moving in from the east.

Tides remain full, lots of bottom for the clammer to work with. The term seeing traps a bit misleading, locally reference is to the number of buoys you can see in one spot. Each bouy colour identifies a different fisherman. From our side of the harbour to see that many, this early unusual, thus worthy of comment, at least that is my story.

Sara going south, what are her plans when she returns to North America. Emily is moving past Graduation with plans to participate in some preliminary options and 'camps' for orientation at UNB. At the moment at least seems more than ready to make the transition.

Enjoy the weather before the rain visits.

Dear Rob:

Thanks for that explanation about the buoys. I didn't quite get it before.

Speaking of Sarah and Emily: When Sarah gets home from Peru (who knows when?) she has scored a job at UNB Fredericton, wherein she will be the person to liase with the Head Co-ordinator about ALL UNB camps for the summer - from kids to kids starting first year - to classes being held in the summer. This is quite a good job (Provincial). She was recommended for it by the Head Prof. at Inter Cordia -- this is the person she dealt with last year whilst preparing to go and teach in Nicarauga. It was actually a full term course.

So, very well Emily could be dealing with my Sarah. So there will be no screw-ups: All the kids call me Chunks but my name is really BETH REICKER and my daughter is SARAH REICKER. Isn't it a small world?

Well, Don is here for crib so better get to beating him :)

Have a good one. Word. Chunks.

p.s. It is raining here but no wind - YET.
