Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that for the past 24 hours the Sea has seen sporadic passing high whispys, hazy.
This morning the skies will clear with only a few high whispys seen in the far northern Sea.
At the south end of the Sea the will see some cloudiness early this morning that will dissipate probably by sunrise. So it looks like the Sea will be seeing mostly sunshine today.
Looking south to the Mexican Riviera: I can see there has been some serious thunderbumper activity back in the mountains from around Cabo Corrienties to Manzanillo during the night. These storms moved toward the coast and the only one still on shore at 5:30 this morning was right over Cabo Corrienties. It will most likely continue moving west and be off shore or dissipated by later in the morning. Manzanillo showed about a third inch of rain last night.
Taking a look now first at the ITCZ/Monsoon trough: It is a hotbed of activity. From Guatemala and Costa Rica west all the way out to around 120 there are too many thunderstorms to count.
Looking now in our tropical kitchen where it’s starting to get busy this morning with two items on the back burners.
The first is a low that is about 400 miles south of the Guatemala border and El Salvador. This low has a good chance of developing into a tropical depression over the next couple of days. The National Hurricane Center is giving it a 50% chance of becoming our next tropical storm in the next 48 hours.
On the other burner is a broad trough of low pressure located several hundred miles southwest of Acapulco. This system is progged to develop slowly and the National Hurricane Center is only giving it a 20% chance of become a tropical storm in the next 48 hours.
So we have a couple of items cooking in the tropical kitchen this morning. Tis the season so we’ll be keeping a close watch on their development.
That’s what is going on in our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where that Alaskan cold front that brought light rain to the Great Northwest yesterday has moved east into the Rockies. There is however a deepening trough of low pressure over most of the western conus that will be with us until this weekend.
Washington, Oregon and all of California will see sunshine today. Morning low clouds and fog along the coast should clear later in the morning.
Southern California will continue to see June Gloom with a nice thick layer of fog extending inland this morning and it should clear by early afternoon. Temperatures in the southland will be in the low to mid 70s today.
Looking now over to the southwest where it continues to be hot and dry. The winds over the southwest will be gusterly until the weekend when high pressure returns to the region.
Temperatures today in the Tucson area will be around 105 and cool a bit each day until Sunday when it should start to heat up again.
Again the prognosticators at the National Weather Service are hinting that some moisture will creep northward into New Mexico and far eastern Arizona by the weekend as a closed low forms off the west coast of Baja. This could produce some mountain thunderbumpers in the eastern part of the state over the weekend. We’ll see?
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence the northern Sea will see moderate southerlies over the 3-day forecast period.
The central Sea from Santa Rosalia to Concepción bay will see brisk to strong southerlies today and tomorrow and back to the moderate ranges on Friday.
Puerto Escondido south to La Paz moderate southerlies today and tomorrow diminishing by a couple of knots on Friday.
The cape area from a bit north of Cabo Pulmo to around the corner to the Cape area will see brisk to strong SW winds over the 3-day forecast period. This could also include the south-western portion of the southern crossing for today and tomorrow.
Today temperatures will be a tad higher today with several locations bettering the century mark. Most will be in the mid to high 90s though.

73s Y’all
