Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the Sea has been free of any cloudiness for the past 24 hours.
The southern crossing has had some clouds drifting into the passage area from the east. They are rather scattered and poise no rain threats
From a bit south of Mazatlan there is pretty much solid thunderbumper action all the way along the coast to South America.
All of these storms are moving out of the mountains and moving toward the coast and then move out into the Pacific. Many are very tall, strong storms.
The entire Eastern Pacific basin all the way out to around 130 has numerous areas of showers and thunderbumpers. They pretty much blanket this portion of the basin.
Sister Carlotta became depressed just after my weather yesterday morning and has now been plutoed to a remnant low. She will continue to dump lots of rain back in the mountains of South-Central Mexico for the next couple of days. Flash flooding and mudslides are of a major concern to the area.
Another menu item for the back burner in our Tropical Kitchen is a low that I mentioned yesterday. It is around 500 miles west of Manzanillo and has now been designated as invest 95. Global models are suggesting that any leftover spin from Carlotta could merge with this low in the next couple of days so we’ll be watching this developing system. Right now it has only a very slight chance of developing into anything tropical in the next 48 hours.
That’s what is going on in our hood this morning so looking now north to the west coast of America where the storm track is still open along the Washington/Canadian border. Western Washington will continue to see passing light showers into mid week.
The rest of the west coast, under building high pressure, will see a robust warming trend. Along the coast they will see temperatures 5-10 degrees warmer than yesterday and the inland valleys will seek the century mark today Redding will hit 109 today.
In southern California high pressure will continue to build aloft today for another warn day inland and some warming along the coasts. There will be a gradual cooling trend tomorrow and Tuesday then another ridge is expected to build in for a warming trend midweek. June Gloom will continue in the morning and evening hours along the coast clearing by late morning.
Looking now over to the southwest where it continues to be hot. Tucson today will be around 107. There will be blowing dust late this afternoon as the winds pick up over south-central Arizona today.
Again today the prognosticators are saying there continues to be a slight chance of some thunderbumper activity in the higher elevations. I’m thinking perhaps just some buildup as the water vapor imagery is not showing much moisture in the area.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence there will be mostly moderate west or northwest winds in the northern and central Sea for the 3-day forecast period.
The Sonoran coast will see brisk to strong northerlies during this period in the 19-25 knot ranges.
The southern Sea will continue to see light to moderate SW winds for the next 3 days.
Temperatures today today about like yesterday and be in the mid to high 90s.
