Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that there was considerable thunderbumper activity over in Sonora during the night and morning hours. With no southern flow north into Arizona most of these storms drifted toward the coast and south a bit.
I can see a nice honker sneaking up on Guaymas from the east this morning. By 7am it was making an end run to the south of Guaymas. No rain or significant winds reported this morning from the Guaymas area.
Looking out my window I can see a line of debris clouds off to the east this morning. They should clear by mid morning.
It looks lime most of the Sea from time to time has had some debris clouds passing from east to west but this image is not showing any thunderbumpers in the Sea for the last 24 hours.
Looking south to the cape and beyond I can see a nice thumper is directly over Puerto Vallarta at 5am and working its way off shore. They have had around 2 ¼ inch of rain since midnight and 1 ½ inch on rain yesterday.
Further south I can see that during the night there has been numerous smaller thumpers develop along the coast all the way south to Acapulco.
Further south I can see where that a Tropical Wave snuck through Costa Rica yesterday undetected by me and is now out in the basin around 96W within the monsoon trough which is about 8N this morning. The Tropical Wave is tickling a lonely low within the trough producing some thunderbumper activity in that area but it is a bit too far south to develop into anything cyclonic.
There is another Tropical Wave out in the Atlantic headed our way that should be here early next week.
Just a reminder that until the southern flow in Sonora begins again. most likely on Wednesday, there is a good possibility that thunderbumpers will be moving out into the Sea so keep a weather-eye out in the evening hours.
That’s it for our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where, of course, Portland and Seattle will have wet streets today. Actually the front passing though will be bringing rain as far south as Eureka.
The rest of California will experience pleasant seasonal weather.
There is a weak low off the Southern California coast that has deepened the fog along the coast and in general keeping the temperatures a couple of degrees cooler than normal.
Looking now over to the southwest where they can expect some isolated showers and thunderbumpers again today mainly in the higher elevations and close to the Fence.
Today and tomorrow are just a warm-up for the 4th of July, Wednesday, when the southwest can expect a significant increase in thunderbumper activity, very heavy at times, underlining the concern for flash flooding.
If Wednesday and Wednesday night go as planned by Thursday the atmosphere should be fairly worked over and they can expect much less thunderbumper activity.
Medium range models are still hinting at another easterly impulse heading the general direction on Friday into the weekend. We’ll see?
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence we can expect to see mostly moderate SE or SW winds in the northern Sea today. The central Sea from around Santa Rosalia to Puerto Escondido can expect to see brisk to strong SE or SW winds today without much change over the 3-day forecast period. I could be a tad high on this forecast for the 4th hopefully the afternoon winds will be in the moderate ranges. We’ll see?
Not much change in the southern Sea. Light to moderate Southerlies for the 3-day forecast period.
Temperatures today about like yesterday and be in the mid to high 90s.
