Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the Sea is pretty much free of any cloudiness.
Over in Mexico I can see that a steady line of very heavy thumpers have been moving up the Sierra Madre Occidentals during the past 24 hours diminishing somewhat the past 6 hours.
Most are now going into New Mexico and up into the central Great Basin where they are forecast to have heavy thunderbumper activity today.
This strong South/north flow on the mainland did not give the storms there much of a chance to drift west into the Sea so no Chubbasco activity in the Sea last night.
Looking now south of the cape to the Mexican Riviera where during the night there have been a few isolated storms build back in the mountains and move quickly to the coast and out to Sea. I can see some patches of fluffys along the coast and the webcam at Manzanillo was showing a lot of fluffys in the area this morning. The rest of the Riviera was pretty much clear including the Gulf of Tehuantepec.
So, looking now in our Tropical Kitchen where we still have tropical depression 4 echo. It has been rather stationary for the past 24 hours and right now it is west of Acapulco. It does not look like the system will develop into a tropical storm even though this image is showing some gradual strengthening. The forecast is for it to start to weaken in the next 72 hours as it moves into cooler waters. Yesterday they thought it would and today they are saying a no-go for a tropical storm. Either way it won’t have any affect on the weather here in the Sea of Cortez.
That’s what is going on in our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where it should be a good day for a picnic from Seattle to San Diego today.
There is a weak low parked off the southern California coast that will keep the coastal fog rather thick along the coast with only partial clearing in the afternoon today. Better daytime clearing tomorrow and Friday.
High pressure will build from the east starting this weekend giving cause to warmer temperatures and the possibility of some afternoon thunderbumpers in the mountains and California’s deserts.
Looking now over to the southwest where temperatures in SW Arizona will start to warm back up and be over 100 again by Saturday. Today and tomorrow will see much less thunderbumper activity as the area recovers from yesterday deluge of storms. The monsoon should crank back up this weekend.
That’s what’s going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence the northern Sea should continue to see moderate southerlies for the 3-day forecast period.
The moderate winds in the central Sea from around Santa Rosalia to Concepción Bay will have a northern component for the 3-day forecast period. The Loreto/Puerto Escondido area should continue moderate southerlies over the 3-day forecast period.
The southern Sea will continue to have light to moderate SW winds for the 3-day forecast period.
The temperatures today will be about like yesterday and be in the low to mid 90s.

Yesterdays 4th of July picnic had a record number of boats checking in with 40 cruisers signing in.

73s Y’all
