Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning in the 24 hour loop I can see that the cell that moved out of the Puerto Vallarta area into the southern crossing yesterday morning continued to move north moving first into the southern crossing and then back over the Sonoran coast and continued during the afternoon moving north paralleling the coast and finally stopping at the Fence at 5am this morning. At no time did it diminish in size.
I can see that other cells popped up hear and there. One fairly large one built after midnight just north of La Paz and soon enlarged to blanketed the Sea between there and Puerto Escondido.
Another cell developed around Los Mochas after midnight and enlarged and moved out into the Sea ending up over La Paz early this morning. It was still there at 5am but the intensity was waning.
This image is showing most of the central and southern Sea overcast this morning. There is considerable cloudiness over Sonora this morning that is having a westward flow so if we do have some cleaning it will be perhaps early afternoon.
Looking now south to the Mexican Riviera I can see there has been considerable thunderbumper activity along the coast during the early morning hours. Most have moved off shore and behind them the mainland is clear.
Taking a look in our Tropical Kitchen this morning where we have a wanna-be west of Manzanillo and SW of Cabo Corrienties this morning. Yesterday the Navy designated this invest 96 Echo. I has been rather stationary and now just started to move NW toward the Cape. The National Hurricane Center is still only giving it a 10% chance of tropical development in the next couple of days. We’ll keep this on the back burner for now as this area is the genesis of most of our hurricanes this time of year.
The only other tropical item this morning is a tropical wave just passing Cuba this morning. It most likely will show up in the Pacific around the Gulf of Tehuantepec in a couple of days. We’ll see?
That’s what is going on in our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where a low is developing off the west coast that will start to move east later today and into the later part of the week. This will bring a cooling trend to the west coast as much as 10 degrees by later in the week. This low will also deepen the fog along the coast of southern California.
Looking now over to the southwest where high pressure will remain firmly in place today gradually giving way to the low moving in from the west by midweek. There will continue to be showers and thunderbumpers mostly in the higher elevations with much better chances spreading throughout the region by Wednesday. Temperatures will also cool a litter during the week and return to the norms by this weekend.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence it looks like the 3-day forecast period will see light to moderate southerlies. This is sort of a typical pattern for this time in August.
The other typical pattern is the monsoon storms developing over on the mainland. The general flow is from the south to the north. As these storms move out over the Sea some grow to produce chubbascos with their high winds. We have about another month of this activity so keep a wary eye out the east during this period.
Temperatures today will again inch up a few degrees and be in the mid to high 90s

73s Y’all
