Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning first with the 24 hour loop I can see that yesterday morning there were numerous small cells pop up all over the Sea and along the Baja peninsula as far north as Santa Rosalia. The cloudiness did not start to clear until late morning and by mid afternoon most of the Sea had hazy skies.
There was very little thunderbumper activity in the length of Sonora yesterday afternoon. Since midnight there has been no thunderbumper in Sonora with the exception of one right over Mazatlan during the early morning hours. There has been some, what appear to be fluffys, drifting west from the Sonoran coast into the Sea and it looks like the Sea this morning has partial overcast.
Looking now south to the Mexican Riviera where there has not been the heavy storm activity along the coast that we have seen for the past week. These storms have been moving across the Sea to the cape area virtually every day for the past week. A friend of mine at San Jose del Cabo says they have received 8 inches of rain in the past 4 days. This current image suggests that they could see some sunshine today. Since early morning there have been several cells build between Mazatlan and Cabo Corrienties and then dissipate or are now on the wane.
Looking now in our Tropical Kitchen where there is nothing going on. The wanna-be low that was west of Cabo Corrienties yesterday morning has sort of petered out over the past 24 hours and is no longer listed as any threat for tropical development. The only other item is a Tropical Wave I’ve been watching cross the Caribbean. It is now headed west down the southern coast of the Yucatan and will most likely show up Wednesday in the Pacific around the Gulf of Tehuantepec or perhaps a little north of there. We’ll see?
It’s a bit unusual to have nothing cooking in our Tropical Kitchen this time of month in August. No complaints though.
That’s what is happening in our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where a rather strong low is set to move into California today and tomorrow. This will be the weather maker for the next couple of days. It will interact with the monsoon moisture already in the area and bring more thunderbumper and showers to the deserts and mountains in southern California.
It will also deepen the marine layer along the coast to around 2000 feet. The third affect will be to cool down the west coast as much as 10 degrees from yesterday by Thursday.
Looking now over to the southwest where the monsoon moisture is unusually high and will result in afternoon and evening thunderbumper and showers region wide. By mid week when low arrives from the west they should see a significant increase in the coverage and intensity of the thunderbumpers especially tomorrow afternoon and evening. The thunderstorm activity will cool temperatures a bit and then rebound during the weekend.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence the next 3 days the winds in the Sea will continue to be light to moderate southerlies.
Temperatures today will inch up an degree or two and be in the mid to high 90s.

73s Y’all
