Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the south end of the peninsula had showers yesterday morning. Several locations around the cape reported over two inches of rain. Showers picked up in the afternoon from La Paz south. Juncalitoville reported a trace of rain and downtown Loreto reported a little over a quarter inch of rain yesterday afternoon. La Paz had over an inch of rain. Here in the cove we had a few sprinkles late in the afternoon but that was it. It looked like the southern peninsula had most of the rain.
This morning the spin off from hurricane Ileana is sending broad scattered bands of clouds over the central and northern Sea.
Looking over to Sonora I can see that there was some thunderbumper activity in the northwest corner of the state with some thumpers moving up the lower Colorado River Valley and a few up into the California deserts.
In the Sea I can see there was a few cells develop around San Franciscito bay. They looked to be short lived. There were several others along the northern coast that all looked to be short lived.
Over night with the exception of some cloudiness in the northern Sea the Sea has just some fluffys here and there.
Looking south along the Mexican Riviera I can see there has been numerous cells develop along the coast. Most are off shore now. The heaviest is west of Acapulco this morning. Yesterday afternoon Puerto Vallarta had over 3 inches of rain.
Looking now in our Tropical Kitchen where hurricane Ileana is approaching colder waters just west of the cape this morning. The forecast continues to show her being plutoed to a tropical storm later today. She will continue to move WNW over the next couple of days.
The other item is a wanna-be that is a bit west of Acapulco this morning. The area of showers and thunderbumper has increased over the past 24 hours and it’s trying hard to become the next tropical storm. As of 6am this morning it still has not been given an invest designation. Should that happen and it does develop into a tropical storm it will be just another John. The “J” named storms in the past have been the ones that have caused us grief. Let’s hope this is an exception.
OK, that’s what is going on in our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where there has not been much change in the weather all week.
Southern California will continue to see thunderbumper activity in the mountains and deserts and that’s about it.
Looking over to the southwest where they will continue to see temperatures around the century mark into the Labor Day weekend. Weak high pressure will result in a slight chance of some thunderbumper activity over the weekend. Next week the high is forecast to rebuild over the region.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence
The next three days in the Gonzaga bay area will see ballpark 15 knot winds today from the ESE, tomorrow WSW, and Sunday NE. just to give them some variety.
The rest of the Sea in general mostly ESE winds over the 3-day forecast period. However tomorrow the Baja side of the northern crossing area is forecast to see moderate NE winds into Sunday.
There is a good possibility that the Baja peninsula will again see showers and thunderbumper today.’
Temperatures today will be in the low to mid 90s.
