Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see some isolated patches of clouds here and there but in general the Sea is pretty much clear of any cloudiness this morning.
Off the west coast of the peninsula the skies are pretty much clear out there as well. Off the northern portion of the peninsula it looks like some whispys will be passing over the northern peninsula and the Sea later today. The webcam at San Filepe and Gonzaga bay are showing………
It looks like the rest of the Sea will be seeing sunshine today.
Glancing over to Sonora I can see a lot of rain clouds moving north up into New Mexico. It is raining in Albuquerque this morning.
Looking now at the cape area: Satellite imagery is showing a lot of whispys passing over the cape and Southern crossing last night and early this morning and it looks like there are still some in the area but will clear later this morning.
Looking further south of the Mexican Riviera where they too have has some passing whispys pass over in the past 12 hours but nothing south of Cabo Corrienties. The rest of the Riviera looks free on any cloudiness this morning.
Looking now at the Tehuantepec: The reporting station at Salena Cruz was only showing 30 knot winds this morning however the Gale warnings are still up until later this morning. The next couple of day the winds are forecast to be in the 10-15 knot ranges in the Gulf.
Looking now out in the Eastern Pacific Basin where out at around 150W along the monsoon trough that area is still pumping out volumes of heavy clouds into the basin. The plume of clouds emerging from this area is now moving due north then east at around 130N so most of them will pass to the north of Baja today.
Last night that plume was over central Baja and here in the cove we had a few sprinkles for a few minutes.
That’s what is going on in our hood so looking north where most of the west coast will see sunshine today. It remains cold there. Sacramento was 36 at sunrise, Portland 36 and Seattle 35. Southern California was in the low 40s.
Northern California is forecast to remain cold and dry through the Christmas weekend.
Southern California will have a slight chance of showers this evening as an upper low swings through. A slight warming trend will affect the area through mid week. Strong high pressure is forecast to start to build on Saturday bringing a stronger warming trend and sunshine for the holiday weekend.
Looking now over to the southwest where showers and clouds will be on the decrease today as that low system moves east.
Another weak low is forecast to cross southern California and Arizona on Tuesday and Wednesday again bringing a slight chance of showers to the region.
No rain or snow is forecast for the rest the week into the weekend. It will be breezy along with sunshine through the Christmas weekend.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back here in Baja it looks like a day of mostly sunshine and seasonally cool weather. I noted that most of the sunrise temp were down a few degrees. December’s normal highs are in the mid 60s for the central Sea and low 70s for the southern Sea. The over-night low dipped down to 52 degrees at my palapa this morning. That was the coldest day since early February
Wind-wise the moderate, mostly NE winds will continue in the Sea today.
