Three blizzards is three weeks in Homer, AK, and we seldom have any. Between blizzards we have had very cold temps running 20-25 degrees below normal all winter. This has been one hard winter up here, but it's beautiful to look at!

This afternoon Homer, Alaska was hit with ash from Redoubt volcano's eruption this morning. It blew ash 65,000 feet into the air. Photos at my photo site on this link: http://jcnak.smugmug.com/gallery/7728632_2nC9y#499552293_DJx3mI'd put them in here if I could figure out how to!

We all are ready for spring, and it sounds like most of you bloggers are getting it. Up here, I'm still getting snow. I've had a skiff of snow almost every morning, and today is no exception ... I'm getting flurries as I write this. I'm at 1,200 and east of Homer. I still have a foot to three feet on the ground, depending on how it drifted. HomerJohn lives, depending on the road, fifteen to twenty-five minutes east of Homer and 1,200 feet higher. It's much colder up here with a lot more snow. He needs a lady that cooks, plays guitar and dominos! ;-)
