I've been going through the blogs on Dolly all day. It seems like every time the NHC has issued an advisory on the system, ACCORDING TO SATELLITE, the position of the system has been considerably off, almost as much as two degrees. Granted, there has only been two advisories so far. I am NOT saying that the NHC is wrong, as i dont know all that much about where a system tends to go at all. I'm simply going by what ive seen lots of people saying, and i'd like to back them up.
here is the position for the 8pm advisory on Dolly:
AT 800 PM EDT...0000Z...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM DOLLY WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 19.3 NORTH...LONGITUDE 85.5 WEST OR ABOUT 125 MILES...200 KM...SOUTHEAST OF COZUMEL MEXICO.
Now take a look at this infared loop on dolly: Link
it seems to me that the system is at around 21N and 85W, almost 2 degrees north of where the hurricane center had said. i know this advisory is over an hour old, but off by that much?
im sure some of you will be inclined to disagree with me, and i would encourage you too, if you know what your talking about. I'm trying to learn from the experts here, and if you know what your talking about, i want to learn from you.
also, feel free to post comments on where you think dolly will go, or where you think the center might acutally be.
