FINN SALUTES OLD AND NEW FRIENDS! Double Kiss

THIS SEASON MY CONTRIBUTION TO WU IS MODEST, I'M WRITING THE SECOND PART OF THE "KUN LUN" TRILOGY.

BUT BELOW SOME INFO & LINKS, AND I STILL CONTINUE MY QUEST TO HELP ABANDONED AND ABUSED ANIMALS, SO IF YOU READ FURTHER, YOU'LL KNOW HOW TO SAVE LIVES AND MAKE “HAPPY TAILS”.

TOWARDS THE END, I'M ALSO BRIEFLY REFERRING TO PORTLIGHT, AN ORGANIZATION FOUNDED BY GREAT WUNDERGROUND BLOGGERS, WHO WITH THEIR TEAM OF VOLUNTEERS AND OUR DONATIONS TRULY BRING LIGHT TO WHERE THERE IS DARKNESS CAUSED BY A NATURAL DISASTER. I HAVE DONATED AND WILL DONATE TO HELP PEOPLE THROUGH THEM, AND URGE ANYONE WHO HAS A HEART TO GIVE A DONATION, IT'S NEEDED TO LET THEM CONTINUE HELPING THOSE WHO WERE NOT AS FORTUNATE AS ME AND MY FAMILY, WHO ARE SITTING SAFELY AT HOME WITH POWER, WATER AND FOOD. WHEN I SAW THE PICTURES ON THE PORTLIGHT BLOG OF AN ANONYMOUS VOLUNTEER DIGGING THROUGH THE MUD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, WHATS 10, 25, 50 BUCKS TO ME? A PEDICURE AND HAIRDO I CAN WELL DO WITHOUT! BUT IT MEANS A LOT TO SOMEONE WHO HAS NO POWER, WHO IS HUNGRY OR WHO HAS LOST A HOME. SO I'M GOING TO GIVE RIGHT NOW. EASY TO DO ON HIS BLOG.
WAY TO GO PORTLIGHT TEM, YOU ROCK!!!

As many of you know already, there's a web search engine called GOODSEARCH - powered by YAHOO! where you get the same quality search results as from Yahoo, but the charity of your choice gets money each time you search the internet through their web-page. One click = one cent!
The same site has expanded to GOODSHOP with a long list of online shops that give a percentage of your online shopping to the charity of your choice.

I’ve always liked animals and believe that one of my purposes in life is to help them. The wise ones say that whatever you give away comes back to you hundredfold, raises your serotonin levels and makes you feel good. I want to live happy life, and have personally experienced the wonderful feeling of giving and true bliss when, unexpectedly, have received much more than I gave. This year we decided that our business “has a heart” and started sponsoring ASPCA on a monthly basis. Our sales increased miraculously. Now we’re part of a project to build a school in Goa, India. I’m not writing this to get anybody’s admiration, praise or “angel wings”, just to confirm that the above mentioned wise ones are right. You can never give too much of yourself to become empty, universe is abundant with prosperity, kindness and creativity.
See below my two happy tails sleeping on the couch, after being saved by APR from cruel abuse, neglect and a horrible death.
Also check the PORTLIGHT DISASTER RELIEF and you’ll see how giving works wonders!

You can help animals too, no money needed, just CLICK TO GIVE. I click every day, because I want to help the furry friends of the two dogs we adopted in 2006 from Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

August 25th, 4.15pm. cat4 Irene's eye is about 160 miles SE off the coast. Big waves cover our 30 yard wide beach and this is NOTHING compared what people up North will get! PS. The life guard tower is gone. The waves that covered the whole beach and the 50mph gusts took it with them. Life guard left his post just after I took the pic and is fine.

Hi Finn,

I have just watched the video of Michelle Kwan, thank you for posting it.
I suppose I may have seen her before, but had not realised how popular she had been when she was on the ice.
I pulled up Wiki to read about her and found our own Christopher Dean (of Torvill and Dean fame) was one of her choreographers.

I am not really into sport of any kind, but will watch some of the Olympics. The only thing I watch on TV is golf.... strange, isn't it, as I have never played the game, but find the guy who commentates here in the UK has the most "peaceful and relaxing" voice!! lol He never gets excited like the football commentators - all screams and shouts - nah, not my scene at all!!

Hi Sandi! I love Michelle, the song and the choreography!
I watch Nascar and golf, because if I don't, I have no hubby on Sundays - lol! I get a kick out of the Nascar commentators' accents :) I was a fan of Formula 1 when I lived in Finland, so not that far fetched to watch cars racing. We never miss the Olympics. I love ice-hockey, but never watch it, just no time. When I lived in Spain, I went to lotsa soccer matches, my ex was a captain of a Madrid soccer team.
I practice Qigong, which is very similar to Tai-chi and enjoy it a lot.

The omgwe'reallgonnadie CMC 144 hrs - has been showing this for a couple of days, NGP hints same, GFS develops it but then dissipates it.

Morning, Finn,

It's been forever since I've dropped by to say hello. Nice to see you out and about, here and there. Now that things have settled in my life a bit, I'm going to try to be a little more social!

I've been keeping an eye on that weather that's being discussed, mostly because I'd love to have the season's last hurrah come to Texas. No chance of that, I fear, but I'll still try. Texas-casting at its best!

Enjoy the weekend. I'm going to try to be creative-productive, once I've been house cleaning-productive. ;)

Hei, min gamle venn. LOL.
Takk for fine ord.

Sorry, Finn. Dyr in Norwegian can mean animal. Hvert dyr some er tapt. Means "every animal which is lost, comes to our house. They must know something. In Norwegian we often place the pronoun before the noun. Instead of vårt hus, we write huset vårt, or sometimes huset til vårt. I understand every word you write in Swedish since I spent a lot of time there. I guess shore and I must write to you in English. Her Norwegian is perfect. I am quite impressed. My Swedish friends come to stay with us every years and they laugh at our accent. They thing we sing our words.

P.S. They do not use the word ni much in Swedish anymore, just du. Therefore, I am du to you. LOL Take care and you two have fun. It is a pleasure to speak to you in any language.

Wow, nu har vi VikingGround! But, I am not technically a Viking :( I'm originally from somewhere like Mongolia, nobody really knows and Finnish is the second worst language to learn after Chinese. I know this for a fact, I studied Mandarin for years - in vain.
But Finland is officially a bilingual country (Finnish and Swedish) so I had had to learn Swedish. Haven't spoken it in over 40 years so you can see how rusted it is...

I tried learning Finnish, but it was much too difficult. I don't know how many languages Grothar speaks, but it is quite a bit. He got me to come on here and then left. He is quite a humorous fellow.

... A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 200 am EDT for
southeastern Palm Beach and northeastern Broward counties...

At 1224 am EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
that the heavy rain has moved north of the warned area.
However... light rain continues and roads likely continue
flooded as it will take time for the water to drain.

Locations in the warning include but are not limited to Mission
Bay... whisper walk... Delray Beach... Boca Raton... Parkland...
and Coral Springs.

Widespread street flooding has been reported from Delray Beach
south to Parkland and Coral Springs. Extensive and significant
street flooding has been reported with too many roads to name...
along with stranded vehicles.

Driving is not recommended across the warned area early this
morning.

Coral Springs Police Department continued to indicate over flowing
canals in the southern portion of Coral Springs.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. With flooded roadways and the numerous canals
across South Florida... it can be difficult to determine where the
Road ends and where the canal begins.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

I wish everybody a Happy Thanksgiving with lots of things to be grateful for... :)

We're going to my in-laws on the West Coast of Florida and, as always, give lots of thanks, eat, play cards, eat, play board games, eat, play more games, sleep - and start all over again the next day :) I love when I don't have to cook!

That is beautiful. She is so young. What a voice. And a great song and lyric.

Here's a little Hawai'ian angel for you, to welcome December at your house.

Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day.

Have a good evening... and may your December this year be filled with happy times that become wonderful memories.

Now tell me about this Lutey-fish stuff. Does it taste worse than dried salmon dipped in seal oil?

Seems this year lots of angels are flying around... :)

That fish is cod cured in acid, the absolute worst and disgusting thing I have ever tasted. And you know I have eaten all kinds weird foods, Felix cat food included... I can't even think about it without gagging. If you go to a Xmas smrgrdsbord that has it, have a napkin on your lap to spit it out...
