An unofficial drought has just ended thank God. 4 weeks and only one downpour. The plants were so happy and I could hear the farmers in the village down the road shouting for joy.

J'Ouvert dry

Wonderful weather for carnival in Portsmouth, Dominica.Lovely clear skies on the evening before j'ouvert and we all had a nice party in Tanetane with the tourist minister Ian Douglas and then on to Lagoon where the morning carnival started at 5am.Great day.

January only 12mm of rain

Wow, that is a drought around here. Normally we are up to 144mm. Finally it broke though and all the farmers and rainwater gatherers had a huge sigh of relief.

Very Dry January so far.
