Cool and Sunny

By: Morningangel, 2:38 PM GMT on August 27, 2010

Cool mornings have me in a flannel shirt, even after the first peek of the sun over the trees. In fact, it's cool enough that I could keep on working, but I'd have to pop in for sunscreen and hat, which isn't worth the small amount of time I would gain.Autumn is coming--and going--so quickly. *sigh*

First Peek at Autumn

By: Morningangel, 6:22 PM GMT on August 26, 2010

Two days of perfect weather, providing a peek at autumn to come. I've been working in the garden as usual in the morning, but with a long-sleeved flannel shirt until the sun rises!Rains have made the ground soft and the work easier. Such lovely weather to be a weed-digger, a post-holer and a rose-planter.If only these kinds of days could go on and on and on...

Booming Thunder

By: Morningangel, 12:46 PM GMT on August 24, 2010

Cannon-like thunder in the 1st hours of the morning was my first clue that I probably wouldn't be out in the garden today. Fine with me. It's been very hot the last couple days, forcing me into emergency watering decisions and not having the hose or the time to do it all. But now...AHhhhh, it's so nice to see all my gardens receiving a deep, healing soaking. And I don't mind the break. The labor was starting to wear me down, I admit.Beautiful, beautiful rain.

Muggy

By: Morningangel, 2:15 PM GMT on August 20, 2010

Cloudy and warm made for a muggy morning, and the mosquitoes are back since we had those thunderstorms pass through. Nevertheless, I got good things done in the dream garden, rerouted a path from nowhere to somewhere and cut through a neglected alley to clean up the skyline significantly.Muggy, buggy, but a great morning.
