Good Mornin' NEw!

Well, we just got our power back on after a 5 plus hr power outage due some old dilapidated tree, no less, knocked down an overhead wire somewhere up the street. (per electric co.) It appears 1,600 people in my vacinity were affected. We woke up around 4:00 am to our smoke alarm making a loud brief squawk, then seeing the sky light up nearby and finally everything turning dark inside and out. There were no t'storms, heavy rains or winds contributing to this mess. It's exasperating how towns and companies cut back or do nothing in taking simple measures (tree cutting on town property) to prevent such major disruptions from occuring. There are too many dilapidated age old trees with heavy limbs up and down the street that should be cut down! Would be nice to go more than just six months between outages for whatever the reasons!

These past few rainy days have certainly increased the lushness to our surrounding greenery. It makes me think of that decades old theme song to that equally old TV comedy, "Green Acres." Sadly, with all the recent power outages in downtown Boston as well, there's not much of difference between so-called city or country life anymore. We're all in the dark ages.

Sorry for the rant, but these outages are wearing us down.

Hope the remainder to the week runs better for us all. Thankfully, it's not mid-winter and temps are fairly comfortable right now.
