us have come out of winter hibernation, it is time, yes it
is time to get our bods back in shape. The dry skin has got to go! The tummies, oh well, maybe a twelve pack, but what about a six pack?? We can do it! With the help of Oprah, Dr. Phil, and the rest of the gurus. Post your ideas. Let's be a support system for each other, no matter what we want as our ultimate outcome.

****Thought #1, you have to burn more calories than you eat***very simple huh! Let me know your ideas on stretcing, excising, and food. (the ugly cause of it all)

Hope your day is going well, mine is nearly over!! My goodness, how time flies when you are getting older.

Have you had any rain yet? Are the fires getting nearer?

I really need your help, "Oh! health Guru". We have a wedding in 25 days and I need to lose the weight I have gained over the winter, to enable me to get into the only suit I have that I can wear. (On one salary - hubby still trying to get that elusive job - I cannot afford to get another wedding outfit!) So need you to help me stick at it!! PLEASE!

Sandi, what would I do in this situation or what is the correct thing to do. I would drink lots of water, helps to make you feel full. Cut portions, eat lots of veggies and fruit. Try to watch the calories. I think 2 pounds a week would give you a loss of a little over eight pounds. Would that help??Find really good undergarmets that would hold the extra pounds in place and contro top panty hose. Sounds like a plan! Don't worry about the extra water it will flush your system. Might want to start with a day of fasting. That is up to you. As long as you would not put yourself at risk. Add fresh lemon or lime to your water, makes the water more fun to drink.

OGal, 8lb in just over three weeks will be good if I can do it - need to be focused - good news tomorrow about hubby's job (he got a second interview even though they said there wouldn't be one) would make me feel better.

OGal- I need a way to curb my appetite. I hate water so I started on Crystal Lite only to realize there are phenylalanes in there and they ain't good for ya. I guess I could try putting lemon or lime in there, but I'd really like to drop some weight for our cruise in July... I just wish I wasn't so tired and had the energy to exercise!

Mandy, believe it or not, if you would just start walking gradually you will have lots of energy. As far as curbing your food intake, my best advice is to just cut portions. Sometimes if you deny yourself it makes you even eat more. Like I told Sandy 2 pounds a week is possible. Lots of water, but the exercising will help get your energy level back up. You just need to get your body out there. It may mean earlier mornings but the payoff is terrific. Let me know how you are doing. I will get my coon boy picture posted soon. It still takes me forever to post.

It's so funny to me that I have no energy, but expending more energy that I don't have will give me more energy!

I'll try to drink lots and lots of water. I've had problems with my bladder, so I hate drinking a lot b/c then I have to pee LITERALLY every 15 minutes! I can't get anything done. Will my body adjust if I start drinking a lot, then I won't have to go as often?

I'd like to lose 12 or 13 pounds... That would be perfect. My cruise is July 10, so at 2 pounds a week... well, it'll be hard, but it's a possibility.

OGal - Thanks for your support! It really means a lot. Are all those animals yours (dogs & cats)? They are all so cute!!! I feel like I really haven't been here lately and I miss all you fine folks!

That picture of the raccoon is priceless! We heard a lot of noise on our sun deck one night and I walked up to see what was going on and there were 3 raccoons up there. Two were mating and one was watching (I didn't know raccoons had three-somes! LOL)

Mandy - I can't imagine anyone NOT liking water. It's my beverage of choice over anything else. They recommend 64 oz. of water a day (8- 8oz glasses), well, I easily comsume twice that. Yes I use the bathroom more, but I just like water.

It's a standing family joke in our family that it takes us longer to drive anywhere because 'mom always has to stop to use the bathroom'. For example, for most folks, it's a 4-4 1/2 hour drive to Las Vegas. But not for us, it's a minimum of 5 or more because I have to stop at least 3 times. I know where every good bathroom is between here and Lake Tahoe (a 450 mile drive!). Oh well, I guess I could have a worse habit - oh yeah - I do - CHOCOLATE! lol

I think I got my computer problems straightened out. Better yet, I got the "Show 50 comments" to work right so I can load the bigger blogs. Couldn't get on yours or a few others for a while. It will be cooler here today with a high near 60 and some showers later. A better chance of rain tomorrow (we'll see what happens). Hope the fires don't get any worse in FL.

Hi ogal and friends,

Since Saturday I have had a lapse in my workouts.

However, I did heavy and hard yard work on Sunday and Monday, so much I was really sore afterwards. Yesterday my muscles were aching from all of the toting, pulling, heaving, digging, etc!!! So that should count for something.!!!

Yesterday, I rested, did a little house work, watched Rylee, then went and got a manicure and pedicure and bought my Crocs and a great pair of little black dress shoes!LOL!!!

I guess I really need to get serious about my exercise and diet program once again!!!!LOL

And yes I did get back on track yesterday.

At home last night got on the NordicTrack.

did my 2 miles in 33 minutes on level 3
burned 203 calories and got heart rate up to 170.... then ate low calorie dinner.

sure hope it works!!!!

Hi, OGal! At last, here I am. Quite nervous about this, but looking forward to all the new and wonderful people I'm going to meet. YP have told me so much about you guys and I had to read all the comments on his blog. Am indeed looking forward to my new house and cannot wait to move in.Will certainly send some photo's. Will have to watch myself not to spend all my time in the garden and none on my studies. I always thought I would like to specialise in Property Law, but Criminal Law and Family Law also intrigues me. Still have a few years ahead and enough time to decide, though. One thing I am certain of is that I would rather be in an advisory position than having to litigate. Will have to carry on until I am an advocate then. Hard work ahead!!!!! Look forward to our chats.
