cannot wait to see the pictures.
I know Blu took her to Florida Keys.
Shore took her to Lousiana.
Peace/Beth took her on a few trips.
Who else had her????
Cannot wait to see what you have found and your pictures of this trip.
I remember seeing those pictures of Bug's flatboard cut-out likeness posted on various WU sites in 2009! That was an ingenious, hilariously funny concept and likeness to create, then trapse around while traveling! Does anyone else connected with her have any pictures stored away to upload and re-post as well? I didn't see any remaining in Palmetto's WU blog archives. Bug certainly was a great conversation piece, not only here, but probably amongst tourists in her travels as well. LOL! Hope she remains in good condition and can't wait till you take an updated pic of her to post here.
Queen Sandi is still with Beth, (PeaceRiver), and so is Wanda and Karen, I believe:)
Let me see if I can easily copy and past them here from my old Sept 2009 blogs.

Happy Labor Day to all of you!
I have a special visitor who arrived on Friday and now that I am off work I will have some time today to spend with her. I promise I will get pictures up later!
Hope you all have a wonderful day.
"Where In The World Is Bug?"
Well well well.as you can see she is with Gams in the Ft Lauderdale, Florida area!
I told you all I have a very special visitor who arrived from England on Friday. So happy I finally had time this morning to spend with her.
This morning Bug and Gams enjoyed a cup of coffee in the side garden. She enjoyed the quiet shady side yard by the fountain.
Then we strolled down the east side garden by the wall of fence art and Bug decides to pose and give you all a wave!
and of course, you all have heard her say many times that should would love to swing on the grandkid's trapeze and she did just that!
And we finished our morning in the "treasure corner" that Rylee and Gamma decorated a few weeks ago. You know Bug will enjoy this and she even put on some of the treasure beads for the photo.
This Hammock under the trees was just too much for Bug to resist so she did pop herself into it for awhile. I wish I had remembered to get her the Hammock Pillow from inside the patio to use under her head, but she didn't seem to mind.
Later in the afternoon, Bug and Gams were relaxing out in the lounge chairs pool side watching Rylee and neighbor, Kyle, and Ellen in the pool and Poppy joined us for a Photo op!
I know Bug and Gams will have a great time in the next month exploring the Broward County area. Sandi and Bug had a great time in England. I think it took 14 days to get Bug from Karen in California to Sandi in England.. guess what it took 14 days to get Bug from Sandi to Gams but she does eventually arrive! Sandi even had Bug Laminated so she will be able to take many more trips as she explores all the WU World.
More adventures to come!
Sept 15, 2009:
Finally have a few minutes and a chance to load up a new blog thread and a few pictures from our trip to Mississippi last weekend.
The pictures of Bug's Adventures with Gamma from the prev blog I will put in the first comment section of this new blog.
Bug enjoyed sitting around the campfire with us.
Then she "begged my parden" and excused herself to leave me and a glass of red wine to go partake a beer with Poppy! LOL
Are the "dates and places" still traveling along with Bug or did you just know who had her all this time! I think it is great it has been kept up with.
That is a great picture of you and Tori with Bug!!! Love it.
She said hello to Blue, and he settled down for a sleep on her lap.....
... then she moved onto larger wild animals, and tried to tame a tiger!!
We will have to get Blu to come back from FB long enough to post her Florida Key's pictures.
Thank goodness you took the time to laminate her or I fear she would have never made all
these trips, especially all the out door adventures!
shhhhh....Bug is sleeeping in this morning. The kitties would not allow her to sleep last night. They wanted to hear all her tales from Alaska.
I am glad you and the kitties are allowing Bug a little beauty rest this morning.
After all her travels I am sure she needs it!
:o)
Enjoy your day.
Good to see Bug! She sure gets around!
Just popping in to say het... And imwill make that call today!
Good girl Donna, you will make the decision based on lots of good knowledge. Thanks for stopping by and saying hey to Bug. I am going to try to give her some fun while she is here in Central Florida. I will try to fix her knee and get her some new shiny thumb tacks.
Has her "plastic surgery" let her down? lol
I was wondering when my alter ego was going to come out of hibernation.
Dad is going to get quite the kick out of this when I show him next weekend. I'm going up for Father's Day.
If you want to see some of the other adventures, look in the blog directory, by handle, for 'hunu' and "Other Bug'. That's two that I know of. I think the others were on individual members blogs.
Knee surgery? I need knee surgery? Oh, dear.
Frankly, I had no idea Other Bug would have lasted this long. Five years?
I figured it would go to the pancake breakfast, then go home with someone, get hung up in the garage, the kids and dogs would play with it and it would eventually wind up in the trash can.
Just love the pics you, Sandi and Gams have posted of "Bug" in past/present shared moments; especially, the recent one showing you and Alaskasnowluvr making the exchange. The three of you are such an attractive looking trio! I take it you're the woman on the left?
Sorry to hear that "Bug's" knee is failing her, but at least her remedy is far less physically taxing or expensive than for any of us. I have to laugh at Sandi's questioning comment about " whether or not her "plastic surgery" is letting "Bug" down. Too funny! LOL!
Thanks for returning her to WU just at the brink of summer. It's a great way of sharing some of her past to present shared travels amongst great fun-lovin' WU pals.
Bug your knee just needs a little patch. Nothing major. I think you will be able to get back to your triathlon practice in no time.
Bug it is your left knee. Your laminate is coming off a little.
Sorry it is starting to go again. Surgery later this weekend. Have to have hubby the Orthopod take a look.
Patient: Doctor, after this surgery will I be able to play the piano?
Doctor: I don't see why not.
Patient: Wonderful! I've always wanted to be able to play the piano!
Now that I'm on the road again, here's a little Willie Nelson:
What courage you have Bug. Thanks for the Wille, one of my favs. Who knows maybe when Steve is finished with you playing the piano will no longer be a dream.
Ha, ha.
Good night Bug. Tomorrow we will take another look at your knee. Icing tonight may have helped.
Here she is sitting on the sand in the jetty with Sadie by her side. She was enjoying the water which was just on the other side of her.
I thought I had more of her...but I'll have to search for them!
Karen, that is great you have your pictures.
We need the rest of the gang to put their pictures here.
Karen, you can tell that was before you sent her to England and Sandi liminated her! She was much more wobbly then than she was in my pictures!!! LOL
Bug, your Dad will get a kick out of this.
When my Dad & Brother saw me wagging you around Mississippi back in 2009
I know he thought we were all nuts! But he went a long with it and thought it was funny.
Today is a very important date in history.
On June 9, 1962, Sarah & Steve said wedding vows together to confirm their marriage.
When they said their vows to each other, obviously they meant it.
Happy 50th Anniversary to a wonderful Couple!!!
Happy Anniversary Pictures @ dazzlejunction.com
Only ten years to go to get to the "Diamond"!! lol
Hope you both have a Wonderful Weekend.
Here are some of the photos of OtherBug (who has her own blog ) while she was visiting with us.
Fifty years is quite a while
For most good things to last;
But you’re still together and still in love;
You must share a wonderful past.
We celebrate you this wonderful day,
And hope that your bond keeps on growing;
You’re a pair we should study and do what you say,
'Cause your secret is well worth the knowing!
By Karl and Joanna Fuchs
You can see some photos of Karen, Wanda and Sandi as they rode on the front dash of the motor home here.
Karen & Emmy were Picture Cutouts.
I did BeachFoxx's Avatar for her..
Sandi was a cute Queen! What were some of the other?
I will go get the picture of them all.
brb
I made Beachfoxx and she sent me her gifts to take that she contributed for the Toys for Tots Charity since she could not attend.
And Sandi the Queen with a screw driver up her back to give her a "stiff spine"... Didn't Ogal make her?
We poured Bug a drink and lit her cig as she hung from the rafter! LOL
And I am not sure who made "Barefoot on the Rocks" symbol for the Pancake Breakfast. If someone remembers, let us know. (Or like Bug did she make her own and send it to someone?)
Here is Emmy & Karen,
Here is Crab & deBride, Gary & Deb, I see some others.. is that Redhead hiding behind Crab? I forgot some of the others here on this table...
Here is Finn, Rays & Gams (me) at the table with some of our "there in spirit guests"!
Here is Gary, Redhead, and RedagainPatti
And here is a table full of the toys we brought for the Toys for Tots Chairty for Christmas.
Here are some WUBA Shots... can you guess who they are:
Here is Beth/PeaceRiver, our hostess!
and we all know how this person is who always turns her back to the camera! Code!!!
And the famous WUBA Salute!
Beth.... I followed the link to your mobile home front dash, and my Kasperski came up with a "malware" notice.
Is anyone else getting this?
Thanks guys for all the good wishes. Steve and I sure did beat the odds. and believe me we had our moments. I guess the best thing I have learned living with Steve for 50 years is to keep my mouth shut and only fight over big things...not the little stupid things.
We are having our first batch of halibut tonight for dinner and of course Bug can join us if she chooses. I am fixing halibut supreme, a huge salad, and rice. We plan to eat ourselves sick on the most expensive fish we have ever had...ha, ha.
Thanks for all the fun pictures of Bug. What a great time we all had with Beth.
Yeppers I made Sandi. Great artistic ability went into her design...including the screw driver.
Is it true that you and Steve are celebrating your 50th wedding anniversary today??? Amazing!!!! Judging by the photo of you and Alaskasnowluvr, you must have been a child bride, as you don't look anywhere close to being old enough to celebrate such a major event in your life!
In any case,
WITH MANY MORE HAPPILY WEDDED YEARS AHEAD FOR BOTH OF YOU!!!
Thank you Mass. i was a child bride. I was 19 when we got married. Do the math and you know how old I am. I had a Navy guy who was off to see the world just prior to Viet Nam and we wanted to be together. Steve was NROTC at Purdue and I was a sophomore when I left the Ivy halls. I went back to school in Jackson, Tenn to a Methodist school, Lambuth College. Long ago in the past. We have had a life going from Athens, Ga.....San Francisco....Chicago.....Jackson, Tenn.....Jacksonville, Fl.........Sarasota.........and now Orlando. Kept those moving trucks in business.
Mush they never got to see her. They would have been worried about all her connections. Don't even get me started.
Thanks for the Happy Anniversary.
You are so right about it being a rare thing in this day & time, especially being a military family! Many congratulations to both of you. We are only 5 years behind you, hoping to make the 50 mark.
I love the catch-up you & the others have provided us with Flat/Other Bug. What fun!
I wanted to inform you that Proserpina and Raindad are also celebrating their wedding anniversary (only their 49th) today as well. What are the odds of two great WU gals, having the same wedding date but only one year apart?? WOW, talk about wedding karma!
Again, you both look young for your years and have definitely proven what it takes to make a happy long sustainable marriage! Major kudos!
Mass I have been taiking to Maria on FB. We both had Priscilla of Boston wedding gowns. How rare is that.
Janetlee we just started out military. My husband was NROTC Purdue so we only had two years of active duty but he stayed in for 22 reserve years before retiring as a Commander. Getting that check now is really a gift.
He is on his third career as a commercial realtor. He was in mortgage banking for forty years before retiring from Sun Trust four years ago. So our life is still pretty busy. Our son just moved back to Tampa and is a producer for Tampa Fox 13 after flying as a commercial pilot for six years.
Night Bug. Glad your knee feels better.
And you are so right. There are lots of ups and downs, but the ups far outweigh the downs, and to be honest, for me, it just gets better the older I get. Maybe it's just because I'm not so worried about a lot of stuff.
Who knows. But anyway....
CONGRATS!!!
**And I agree with a lot of previous posts....you look fab!!!
I went digging and found some pics of Bug to contribute. What a fun life she's had! And I must say, it was a lot of fun showing her life on the bayou. Here she is at Café Des Amis in Breaux Bridge....
And here she is flirting with some dude and the ghost of Longfellow at the Evangeline Oak in St. Martinville...
She got to go out on the bayou in a pirogue...
She stopped by an oyster house at Bayou Dularge and visited with Wendy, the original Bayou Woman....
And she took her ease on the gallery of a fine Cajun home, just like she had good sense!
It was such a wonderful trip I'm ready to do it all over again - or maybe head off in a different direction!
