Happy Day After the 4th.

Glad you are back Bug....
Bug I had hoped to put you on the plane with me but with all the TSA problems they probably would have thought you were a weapon. So I am glad you decided to go for a ride with the UPS guys. You were packed so cozy in the box with our fishing clothes and made it to my house in perfect shape. I know it must have been kind of hard to sleep with all that noise in from the UPS guys in Louisville.

Flat Bug tired after a long hike on the Homer Spit.

First for those who are new WU bloggers Flat Bug was made by Palmenttobug who lives in Charleston, NC to represent herself. The first big meet and greet for WU bloggers was held in Central Florida by PeaceRiver. It was a breakfast. This took place in 2007. Beth (PR) made pancakes for all of us who attended the meet and greet. Another of our WU bloggers collected from each of us gifts for underprivileged kids as this breakfast was held at Christmas time. These gifts were given to a Firestation that was helping give kids a good Christmas. PB was not able to attend so she made a replica of herself and sent it to Peace. Over the past five years flat Bug has visited many places with many different hostesses.

Her last home for a year was in Sterling, Alaska with Alaskasnowluvr. This is a very busy household with two teenage boys and a dad that hunts and fishes. Bug had a wonderful time while she was there but was ready to come back to the lower 48. On my last trip to Alaska I picked Bug up from Alaskasnowluvr in Sterling. Bug will be with me for a while as she decides where she would like to go next

Located 29 miles east of Kenai and 2-3 hours from Anchorage, Sterling enjoys a brisk tourist trade with a focus on sportfishing and hunting. Visitors to the area can book guided fishing adventures or hunting trips..

Hugs all around. This was the first time I met Tori (Alaskasnowluvr) in person. This was the formal changing of Bug's address from Sterling, Alaska to Winter Springs, Florida.

I will list the dates and hostess that Bug has visited in my next post. I will also post some pictures as I get them loaded into the computer.

I had Bug in Sept 2009 and took her to Mississippi Camping and fishing with me! I know Blu took her to Florida Keys. Shore took her to Lousiana. Peace/Beth took her on a few trips. Good Afternoon, OGal ~ I remember seeing those pictures of Bug's flatboard cut-out likeness posted on various WU sites in 2009! That was an ingenious, hilariously funny concept and likeness to create, then trapse around while traveling! Does anyone else connected with her have any pictures stored away to upload and re-post as well? I didn't see any remaining in Palmetto's WU blog archives. Bug certainly was a great conversation piece, not only here, but probably amongst tourists in her travels as well. LOL! I have a special visitor who arrived on Friday and now that I am off work I will have some time today to spend with her. I promise I will get pictures up later! Hope you all have a wonderful day. "Where In The World Is Bug?" Well well well.as you can see she is with Gams in the Ft Lauderdale, Florida area! I told you all I have a very special visitor who arrived from England on Friday. So happy I finally had time this morning to spend with her. This morning Bug and Gams enjoyed a cup of coffee in the side garden. She enjoyed the quiet shady side yard by the fountain. Then we strolled down the east side garden by the wall of fence art and Bug decides to pose and give you all a wave! and of course, you all have heard her say many times that should would love to swing on the grandkid's trapeze and she did just that! And we finished our morning in the "treasure corner" that Rylee and Gamma decorated a few weeks ago. You know Bug will enjoy this and she even put on some of the treasure beads for the photo. This Hammock under the trees was just too much for Bug to resist so she did pop herself into it for awhile. I wish I had remembered to get her the Hammock Pillow from inside the patio to use under her head, but she didn't seem to mind. Later in the afternoon, Bug and Gams were relaxing out in the lounge chairs pool side watching Rylee and neighbor, Kyle, and Ellen in the pool and Poppy joined us for a Photo op! I know Bug and Gams will have a great time in the next month exploring the Broward County area. Sandi and Bug had a great time in England. I think it took 14 days to get Bug from Karen in California to Sandi in England.. guess what it took 14 days to get Bug from Sandi to Gams but she does eventually arrive! LOL I was wondering when my alter ego was going to come out of hibernation. Dad is going to get quite the kick out of this when I show him next weekend. I'm going up for Father's Day. If you want to see some of the other adventures, look in the blog directory, by handle, for 'hunu' and "Other Bug'. That's two that I know of. I think the others were on individual members blogs. Knee surgery? I need knee surgery? Oh, dear. Frankly, I had no idea Other Bug would have lasted this long. Five years? Good morning, OGal! Just love the pics you, Sandi and Gams have posted of "Bug" in past/present shared moments; especially, the recent one showing you and Alaskasnowluvr making the exchange. The three of you are such an attractive looking trio! I take it you're the woman on the left? Sorry to hear that "Bug's" knee is failing her, but at least her remedy is far less physically taxing or expensive than for any of us. I have to laugh at Sandi's questioning comment about " whether or not her "plastic surgery" is letting "Bug" down. Too funny! LOL! Thanks for returning her to WU just at the brink of summer. Here is BeachFoxx and Catawife: I made Beachfoxx and she sent me her gifts to take that she contributed for the Toys for Tots Charity since she could not attend. And Sandi the Queen with a screw driver up her back to give her a "stiff spine"... Didn't Ogal make her? We poured Bug a drink and lit her cig as she hung from the rafter! Thanks guys for all the good wishes. Steve and I sure did beat the odds. and believe me we had our moments. I guess the best thing I have learned living with Steve for 50 years is to keep my mouth shut and only fight over big things...not the little stupid things. We are having our first batch of halibut tonight for dinner and of course Bug can join us if she chooses. I am fixing halibut supreme, a huge salad, and rice. We plan to eat ourselves sick on the most expensive fish we have ever had...ha, ha. Thanks for all the fun pictures of Bug. What a great time we all had with Beth. Yeppers I made Sandi. Thank you Mass. i was a child bride. I was 19 when we got married. Do the math and you know how old I am. I had a Navy guy who was off to see the world just prior to Viet Nam and we wanted to be together. Steve was NROTC at Purdue and I was a sophomore when I left the Ivy halls. I went back to school in Jackson, Tenn to a Methodist school, Lambuth College. Long ago in the past. We have had a life going from Athens, Ga.....San Francisco....Chicago.....Jackson, Tenn.....Jacksonville, Fl.........Sarasota.........and now Orlando. Kept those moving trucks in business. Mass I have been taiking to Maria on FB. We both had Priscilla of Boston wedding gowns. How rare is that. Janetlee we just started out military. My husband was NROTC Purdue so we only had two years of active duty but he stayed in for 22 reserve years before retiring as a Commander. Getting that check now is really a gift. He is on his third career as a commercial realtor. He was in mortgage banking for forty years before retiring from Sun Trust four years ago. So our life is still pretty busy. OGal - congrats on the 50 years! I also got married at 19, but I have a few more to go before we see 50! What a grand accomplishment. And you are so right. There are lots of ups and downs, but the ups far outweigh the downs, and to be honest, for me, it just gets better the older I get. Maybe it's just because I'm not so worried about a lot of stuff. Happy Anniversary, OGal, to you and Hubby! That's a remarkable achievement - 50 years of anything is pretty good. Fifty years of marriage? Amazing. I'm really a little shocked, though - I never would have guessed you were old enough to be celebrating a 50th anniversary. Child bride? Well, maybe - but ten's pretty young to marry, don't you think? I went digging and found some pics of Bug to contribute. What a fun life she's had! And I must say, it was a lot of fun showing her life on the bayou. Here she is at Café Des Amis in Breaux Bridge.... And here she is flirting with some dude and the ghost of Longfellow at the Evangeline Oak in St. Martinville... She got to go out on the bayou in a pirogue... She stopped by an oyster house at Bayou Dularge and visited with Wendy, the original Bayou Woman.... And she took her ease on the gallery of a fine Cajun home, just like she had good sense! It was such a wonderful trip I'm ready to do it all over again - or maybe head off in a different direction!
