I've thought about doing this for a while, but now I want to see if I can post a photo of "My View" every day for a year, just to see, day to day, how the view changes.
January 1st, 2012, approximately 8am. 39 degrees
January 2nd, approximately 9am 41 degrees
January 3rd, 2012, approximately 8:30am 30 degrees
January 4th, approximately 9am 18 degrees
January 5th, approximately 9am 29 degrees
January 6th, approximately 8:30am 28 degrees
January 7th, 7:30am 35 degrees
January 8th, 8:00am 34 degrees
January 9th, 9am 30 degrees
January 10th, approximately 9am, 38 degrees
January 10th, 8pm.... wanted to include this night-time view with the almost full moon!
Bug; I don't blame you for not wanting to get sick.... I really didn't want to get sick again, either. I was not thrilled when an obviously sick person came over for a social visit and three days later I wake up with a sore throat and cold symptoms. Why can't these people just call and say they're sick and reschedule the visit? :-/

Look at all that snow! I'm sitting here eating a bowl of popcorn. It's rainy out for us today. We did get in a walk, and it did clear and we had sun, but the clouds are having fun out there today! Getting a bit windy too.
We needed the rain, and we're expecting more Sunday into Monday, and then next weekend? Summertime temps again! What a roller coaster of a winter!

Karen; Well, an occasional rainy day with a bowl of popcorn isn't so bad. :-) Enjoy your nice weather tomorrow!
Ylee; Thanks! Yes, Sammy has been have lots of fun in the snow today! We have 10" on the ground right now and it looks as though it's finally slowed down, but the wind is picking up so it's hard to tell.
The cold does seem to be slowly improving; thanks for asking. :-)
Bill; He sure is! :-)

10 inches of snow.... wow, that will make a difference to your daily shot! How on earth do you dry off Sammy after his long coat has got encrusted with snow? Mind you, he looks to have had great fun!! lol
Well done on your AC photo:)
Keep warm and take care of that cold....:)
Member Since: October 29, 2005 Posts: 252 Comments: 22418
Sandi; The snow never really penetrates his thick coat; it just lays on top so it shakes or brushes off pretty easily. Yes, he is having lots of fun in the snow... this is what he is made for. :-)
Thanks for the congrats on the AC!
Member Since: November 16, 2002 Posts: 70 Comments: 7165
The AC shot is good for showing the weather but, if it's all the same to you, I like the first one where Sammy is galloping to you with a big grin on his face.

Firstly, thanks so much for your lovely birthday greeting and graphic posted on my blogsite this am! It's much appreciated! That posted cake graphic certainly gives Betty Crocker a run for her money. LOL!
Secondly, big kudos on the AC photo submitted to and accepted by WU! I just love watching the scenes, you shot and posted a few days ago, of Sammy romping around in all the snow! I bet he's a bit confused today by our current milder temps melting it all away. Nevertheless, you both certainly have such lovely terrain in which to take and capture those enjoyable daily walks.
I can't get over how quickly Emma and Michaela seem to be growing. Time seems to be passing by so swiftly these days or maybe, it's just me. LOL! Thanks again for sharing the gorgeous sites and scenes of your neighborhood with us. I really miss those wonderful days I spent visiting the Cape in the past, so you provide a wonderful reminder of what beauty still remains.
Glad to hear you're feeling better after being floored with cases of the flu and then subsequent headcolds. Strange how, last winter, we seemed to get through those challenging days with nary a sniffle and now be hit with the kitchen sink when confronted with a much milder one. Not quite the trade-off I had in mind! LOL!

Bug; You're right, the AC is a good weather shot, but not my favorite in the series, either; which would be either #5 or #6 in post 52.
Mass; Happy Birthday! Thanks for the kudos! I enjoyed those outings with Sammy and had fun taking his photo as he cavorted in the new snow.
Yes, all the grandkids are growing so fast! My youngest grandbaby is turning one year old in a little over a week... time flies!
I know what you mean about not appreciating all these bugs that have been passing from person to person this fall/winter. It seems as though I ought to have built up a reserve of antibodies to all these germs by now!
Member Since: November 16, 2002 Posts: 70 Comments: 7165
Judging by your pics-of-the-day, it doesn't look like the snow lasted very long. Hopefully, you'll be finally and completely over the that nasty bug in time for the next snow romp with Sammy.

BriarCraft; You're right. Temps in the 30's and 40's and heavy rain washed most of it away. We still have puddles and piles of it here and there but it's mostly gone.
Thank goodness, my cold is mostly gone, too. :-)

Sandi; Thanks very much for your kind birthday wishes and the beautiful photo!
Pros; Birthday balloons and flowers... what could be more festive? Thanks very much!
Linda and Dixie; Thank you! I love the photo of the cat and snow cat... so cute!
Well, I'm off for my first day on the job at my new place of work (still working part-time elsewhere, too.) and I'm delighted at this new addition to my career history! Here's hoping all goes well!

HOPE THAT, DESPITE ANY INCLEMENT WEATHER TODAY, YOUR SPECIAL DAY WILL FEEL SUNNY, WARM AND BRIGHT!! BEST WISHES ON YOUR NEW JOB AND HOPE IT BRINGS YOU MUCH FULFILLMENT!
I realize that you're not, nor remotely close, to being what would be the age of my Mom, LOL, as this YouTube Simon's Cat "Birthday Greetings" states at the end, but thought you'd enjoy the only Simon's Cat YouTube birthday salute I could find.

Today must be your birthday because the sun is shinning bright The clouds that are usually hiding it are now nowhere in sight The birds are singing joyfully as they go happily on their way It's as if Mother Nature herself knew this was a very special day
Many happy returns of the day!
Love and (((HUGS)))

Mass; Thanks very much for the wonderful birthday greetings! I loved the graphics and cartoon! I was really pleased with my first day on the new job and hope that this turns into a real career!
Gamma; Thanks for the birthday wishes on both sites! All the cheery birthday notes really made my day! My FB retro photo isn't terribly flattering.... what with my eyes being closed and all.... but it is a fun blast from the past and it was a very happy day for me. :-) Your High School formal photo on FB is beautiful!
Juslivn; Thank you!
Bug; Thanks for the birthday poem! {{{love & hugs}}} back atcha!

Gamma; You received an AC, too? I didn't see it, but thanks for the head's up because of course I want to! Thanks also for the congrats! I hope you have a great week, too!
Bug; It was a wonderful first day on the job! Back for Day 2 tomorrow! Thanks for checking in!
Pros; I hope your birthday was spectacular! Thanks for stopping by with your 'thank you' and all those pretty birds!

Beth, I've enjoyed your month of photos. Isn't it fascinating how the weather and changes in light can transform the same scene? Inspired by Shoreacre's Lenten discipline last spring, I have continued to survey the view from my porch each morning. There is so much to see - if I really look!
What is the new job? You sound enthusiastic!
Member Since: October 22, 2005 Posts: 0 Comments: 1566
Numberwise; Now that the sun is rising earlier the view should get more interesting, especially when things start to green-up!
My new job is at an online bookstore (although I work on-site) where I'll be "grading" books and entering the titles, info and a brief blurb for each volume into their website. I'm very excited at both the job and the future prospects there since there's lots of room for advancement!
Hope all is well with you! :-)

Glad to hear that the first day went well. Huzzah! And I'm with you - I like that last photo of Sammy best. Dog in snow photos are great - I suppose cat in snow pics would be good, too, but I can't remember seeing many of those.
I had a great time with my friends, and now I'm worn out, and have a bunch to do that probably won't get done tonight because I'm too tired. Every now and then, going back to work to get rested up is more than a joke! I hope your week goes well, and you continue to enjoy it. The more I think about it, you might just have the perfect job. Now, we need for you to have the perfect salary! ;)

Is anyone finding that my blog is taking a long time to download? I'm wondering if I should break it up by month so that it doesn't take forever for the page to come up. I have a slower connection, so it takes about a minute to come up on my computer. Opinions?
Bug; It IS cool and yes, there's lots of room for advancement! Thanks for the good vibes!
Linda; I'm glad to hear that you had fun with your friends! I'm worn out after this last weekend, too... it was a very busy birthday weekend! :-)
Member Since: November 16, 2002 Posts: 70 Comments: 7165
Your blog doesn't seem to load any slower than on mine, which is pretty graphics-heavy, too! Anyone with broadband shouldn't have any problem!
You could put up a new blog every month, or two months, or even three months, so folks wouldn't have to scroll so much! Just a thought though, 30 days don't seem too unwieldy to me.
Anyway, you're doing a great job!
Member Since: February 3, 2011 Posts: 65 Comments: 11322
Ylee; Thanks very much! And thanks also for your input on how long the page takes to load; I'll start a new blog for February so that it isn't so tedious to scroll through all those photos!
It's a gray day here, but at least the clouds have helped the temperatures come up; it was ten degrees warmer when I got up this morning than it was when I went to bed last night. I'll take it! :-)
Member Since: November 16, 2002 Posts: 70 Comments: 7165
I think a new blog for each month is good, but I'm not having any problem loading your page. I'm on cable, but still - a second or two is all it takes. Even someone with a slower connection shouldn't have too much trouble.
I'm amazed to see so little snow. Is this normal for you? I know that your temps probably are moderated some by your location (is that true?) but I still expected to see more snow in January. Lots of folks fussing about the same thing!
We're gray and gloomy, too, which means rain, maybe, which makes everyone smile! Context is everything! I've got a couple of name boards to do - they're here at home, so at least I can work on them. Hope your day's productive, too. ;)
Member Since: October 4, 2004 Posts: 195 Comments: 14799
Linda; I have cable, too, but I down-graded from the high speed connection to save money; the lower speed works just fine but some things do take a little longer to load.
No, this dry winter isn't normal for us; it's been both warmer and dryer than usual. The ocean does tend to be a moderating influence on our temperatures but, after all, we are in New England and you do have to expect to have New England winters here. This winter (so far!) has been a welcome break from extreme cold, snow and ice and that's fine with me. I feel as though I've had enough to cope with and anything that makes life easier is a good thing these days and plus, it's sure made my heating bill a lot easier to take, too!
I'm glad you have an indoor project to do during the gloomy weather. I have a half-day's work today, too (telecommuting) and will probably get started right after lunch.
Thanks for stopping in! :-)
Member Since: November 16, 2002 Posts: 70 Comments: 7165
Good morning. I agree that the page loads quickly, but I also agree that starting a new blog for each month would probably make it easier to view. Perhaps you could include a typical photo or two from each previous month for comparison.
And I agree about this winter! We have about a 6" snow cover, but I have been grateful for the easier travel and lower heating bills.
Your new job sounds wonderful!
Member Since: October 22, 2005 Posts: 0 Comments: 1566
Numberwise; Thanks for your input on the page-loading question and I like your idea of including some photos from the previous months! I'm glad to hear that you're experiencing a milder winter so far, too!
Member Since: November 16, 2002 Posts: 70 Comments: 7165
running in and by you to say... HELLO ... and share a hug
Hope all is well. Sorry I have not been in here much to offer a cup of smiles. I think of you like family but I have not been much of a good member of late. School has taken much of my time. Computer problems and Internet too... but I do think of you and want you to know you are in my heart and prayers.

I hope to stay clear of bugs and germs for the rest of the winter, too!
