Weather Underground National Sponsor of Portlight Disaster Relief

Charleston, SC – Portlight Strategies, Inc., - a national grassroots non-profit organization - announced today that Weather Underground, Inc., will again be a National Sponsor of Portlight Disaster Relief.

Wunderground.com is the nation’s first online weather service and the trusted source of local weather information for millions of loyal visitors each day.

Hundreds of members of the wunderground.com blog community have teamed with Portlight Strategies, Inc., throughout the last three and a half years to provide much needed relief services and supplies to victims and survivors of several natural disasters, both domestically and internationally.

These relief efforts focused on helping people with disabilities, as well as people in small towns and rural areas often marginalized by the larger institutional relief infrastructure.

Portlight Strategies, Inc., has committed to building on the stunning success of this collaborative, grassroots initiative.

"Weather Underground stepping up to be one of our National Sponsors again in 2012 is a huge honor”’ said Paul Timmons, Jr. – Portlight Strategies, Inc., Board Chair.

"We are very pleased to continue our support of Portlight Strategies because they make a real difference to otherwise neglected communities that are affected by weather-related disasters around the globe", added Alan Steremberg, President and co-founder of Weather Underground.

Portlight Strategies, Inc., is a 501c3 tax exempt nonprofit organization dedicated to meeting the specific needs of un-served underserved and forgotten people.

Help Africans

Posted by: danielatanner, 3:37 PM CST on January 17, 2012

I was listening to the radio today and actually listened to the lyrics of Kid Rock's song, Care. He says,

Cuz I cant stop the war
Shelter homeless, feed the poor
I can’t walk on water
I can’t save your sons and daughters
I can’t change the world and make things fair
The least that I can do
The least that I can do
The least that I can do is care

You might not know people in Africa, in the countries suffering from famine who are struggling every minute of their lives to avoid dying a painful and slow death. But you can care about them.

Join Weather Underground's drive to raise money for these people who can be aided for just pennies. All I'm asking for you to do is care and take as little as $10, which WU will match, dollar-for-dollar, to help these people.

The Message is still the same.

George Harrison was a visionary as this was the first World Wide Concert Sponsored Human Relief Effort.

George, How we need Him today...

Relive Africa

..My friend came to me, with sadness in His eye's..
